hey i was writing a short zombie fic and i needed help with a transition. when the dead start rising i wanted it to be announced on the radio but the main character doesnt listen and changes the channel. so really i want him to be flipping through channels and hearing the beggining of each one but have it be cut of but i dont know how to flip through channels without it being akward. can someone help?

Have you written up to the part where he is listening to radio, right before the announcement? If so, would you mind posting a snippet so that we can see the mood you have set? That way it might be a little simpler to see how the transition might/could be.

I would usually make it start off with dialogue. Something along the lines of:

"And the yankees bring it home again! This is the--

"Police have arrested Joesph Lee for his--

"The president has announce their promo--

(Main character name here) sighed. Clicking his finger against the button of the remote, he scurried to find something interesting, but alas it did not come.
