GUY to GIRL presentations
First, the bad presentation:
"Do you wanna be my girlfriend?"
Why: Pretend you're asking a girl out and try both of these. The first one asks whether or not I want to be your girlfriend, or, stated in another way, whether or not I want you to be my boyfriend. It is asking for my opinion, not a decision, and it also implies that being your girlfriend is a privilege that I should be happy to have. Which is NOT a message you want to be sending across.
Now, the better presentations:
1. "Will you be my girlfriend?"
Why: Offers yourself to her and makes you more vulnerable because of the way it's presented. And women like vulnerability because in a sense means you are 'showing your emotions' which men don't do and women complain they should do more.
2. "Can I be your boyfriend?"
Why: General reaction: Awww. Let's face it, it's cute.
ON TRIAL---VOTE
3. "YOU WILL BE MY GF." --MaAssIsWOW
There has been a few that disagree with this one. Either way I'll put up a poll and depending on the results I'll move it to another category.
Why: Use only if
a)you know she likes you back *IMPORTANT*
b)you two know each other well
or c)it's not out-of-character
I agree with XxSugarKisses-TeddyHugsxX, you'll get slapped if you walk up to a chick you've never talked to before and demand that she be your girlfriend.
When a guy asks me out, no matter what my reply is, I like to pose one question that no guy has gotten right so far: "Why?" When I ask this I don't ask it because I'm going to reject your offer and this is some way to redeem yourself. I ask this because I want to hear you make a declaration. I don't ask for a declaration of ever-lasting love, and something simple such as "Because I like you" or "Because I care about you," something honest is the right answer. Don't heap on the compliments, "Uhh.. You have a nice ass??" (Omg how many times I've gotten that one) Why is something so small like this so important? Because when you say something out loud, it gives it that feeling of officialism. So make it official guys!
NOTE* I'm not saying if you don't ask a girl in a way that's listed here, you'll get turned down. They aren't rules or guidelines,; they are simply what the words imply if you were to say them to a female. If she really likes you, she'd say yes no matter what way you ask her. This is just to turn the odds a little bit in your favor if you're not sure.
NOTE** I speak only for myself, not the general female population. If you disagree with something I've said, or have something to add by all means post it and I'll take the time to consider it.

we men are stealthily complex, we leave women with a sense of understanding while being completely oblivious

So you're saying is that men are still completely unaware even though they look like they're paying every attention ... that's the equivalent of nodding your head yes while replaying last year's superbowl in your head.
Hahah, how is that complex?

I agree with the thread starter.
Will you sounds better

Aw, yes indeed. Do you wanna be my girlfriend strikes me as juvenile. When I read the words I picture a five year old kid in the playground with a mud stained t-shirt. Cute then, not so much now.

Both of them don't work. It should more like, YOU WILL BE MY GF.

Never thought about it like that, but the latter does seem better. That's how I ask all girls.

That girl will slap your face if you go up to her saying that.

Now that's a different subject. This thread explains different presentations of a
guy asking a
girl out. I never said that the guy
should always ask the girl out. In fact, it doesn't matter who presents first, but this thread is only addressing when
guys ask
girls.

Okay.. I don't agree with number 3. It's kind of freaky and imposing in my opinion.

It's pretty straightfoward.
We're discussing the best way a guy can ask a girl to be his girlfriend.
And we're voting on whether or not "You will be my girlfriend" is the smart thing to say.

"Will you..." sounds better. It's something I'd use
"You will..." on the other hand... It sounds too controlling.
