I've got my belly button pierced.

I would say that you probably could but it might come out uneven. or croked
Rachel
Are you seriously asking this? Any piercing (or tattooing for that matter) should be done by a professional, preferably in a professional setting with clean, sterile utensils and someone who actually knows what they are doing.

i know, i know.
but everywhere in my area that my parents and i have seen, it costs money.
an amount that we cant afford right now.
but my parents insist on doing it at home they have everything.

i just want to know if i can get any disese or anything from it.

The chances of you getting a disese are pretty slim. I tryed piercing my belly button at my house and so did my friend and her sister. None of ours got infected and all we used was a needle. Yeah, its better to get it dome professonally but the chances are about the same of getting an infection, or disese. Just be careful not to put it in the wrong spot or make it crooked.
Rachel
My friend did hers @ home and got herself a nasty infections and scar.
Detective
Just to be in the safe side you should get it professionally done.
hollywoodpink
no diseases, just a really bad infection. and it most likely closing up after a short period of time.
that'd be a waste of money in itself for the kit.

save up and get it done professionally.

I know people that done their piercing at home. I don't know if this would work for your belly button. First wipe your belly with alcohol to keep from infections. Second get a piece of ice and put it on your belly to numb it so it won't hurt (keep it on there until you can pitch your skin really hard without feeling a thing). And from there stick the needle through really fast. Keep the ring in there for two months at least.

This usually work when you piercing your ears.

That's a safe way. My best advice is go to an professional because if you have to ask rather it's safe or not, you shouldn't be doing it yourself then.

Good Luck
BOOGERSHAHA
if you do it at home and get an infection, you'd have to shell out bucks to make it go away...

belly piercings were around 50, i thought? that's what i've heard from friends; i've never gotten on and i don't plan to. they're hot but i heard the hole gets big when you're pregnant?

My friend did hers at home and it came out fin thumbsup.gif But she did take the time to sterilize the needle before she did it, and she cleaned the piercing every single day with a special cleaner. The only thing she didn't like about it was that it came out as the smallest gauge size and she got annoyed with it or something. I don't know much about piercings so I don't know what the deal with that was.

I would suggest getting it professionally done, because the piercers know what they're doing.
Like others said, there is a risk of an infection, it not coming out right, etc.
And, I don't think it's that expensive; save up for it. How much does it cost at the places you've looked? Mine cost me about $60-70 but only because I went to a high class place out of the blue. Other places I've called only cost about $40-50.

either get it done right by a professional or don't do it at all. piercings are very tricky to do at home and require extra care that most people wouldn't want to waste time on. it's also especially tricky because it's a belly piercing. belly piercings are more prone to irritation due to clothing rubbing against it.

if you do insist on doing it at home, at least have a doctor/nurse friend come over and help out. sterilize EVERYTHING. wash your hands. pick up instructions on how to pierce your bellybutton etc. and if you do go through with it, try to wear loose clothing or shirts that expose your navel for a few days to minimize irritation.

IT'S NEVER COMPLETELY SAFE TO DO YOUR OWN PIERCINGS!
kameron
i think its just fine.
just take your time & definately make sure everything is steryl!
heyyfrankie
just go somewhere.
i don't like those at-home things.
my sister and her friends did the at-home ear-piercing and she got an infection. pinch.gif
but she went somewhere and got her belly button pierced for cheap and no infection.
MyMichelle
NO

and don't take advice from someone who can't even spell sterile.

Just save for up for it and get it done. It's not worth the risk, because you can get some nastyyyyy infections from doing it yourself.
lojay
Belly piercing the easiest to get infected, right? I think I heard that somewhere, but I'm not 100% sure.

Anyway, I wouldn't do it if I were you. One of the girls at my lunch table in middle school pierced her belly button in the girl’s bathroom during lunch with a safety pin. She got an infection within the next couple of days. So, yeah, I would suggest getting it professionally done or not getting it done at all.

Either way, you have to make sure to keep it really clean...
me1issaaaa
My friend did hers herself, and it turned out fine, but... she was drunk at the time. Haha. And hers was a ONCE IN A THOUSAND chance, not to get any infection and to get it in the right sopt and everything.

Go and have it done, where people are trained to do these sorts of things.
DarkImpressions
I wouldnt trust.
Just invest in the money and have it done professionally.

I think you're better off going to the shop and doing it. Let the pros handle it!
cori-catastrophe
professinal piercings are so much easier.
breakingdawn
If she doesn't have the money now, why can't she just save up? Does she need to have it RIGHT NOW?
Rachel
Because she's an idiot.

Girl if you do it yourself post a picture of it
