I've heard that applying a Vitamin K cream helps alleviating bruises. You can probably find it at a local drug store.
I've also heard that you can take the "black and blue" out of a bruise by gently applying rubbing alcohol to it. I'm not sure how effective that is... but I guess if you are desperate why not try?
Other than that... maybe see a doctor or some sort?

I think people just have conditions where they bruise very easily. I don't think it's anything to worry too much about, but if it really is terrible to you, then you should talk to a doctor / nurse about it.

Don't people with Leukemia bruise a lot? I thought I saw an episode of Strong Medicine when all the kids were getting bruised because they had Leukemia...
You should go to the doctor.

There's probably nothing wrong with you, you may just bruise easily. However, someone who bruises easily may have hemophilia, which is actually several genetic illnesses. It's really unlikely that you have it, since you've only discovered that you're getting bruised easily now and not all your life. Go see a doctor just in case though, but I wouldn't worry too much about it. I bruise pretty easily myself and I'm healthy.

i think, although it probably isn't a major thing, but easily bruising/unexplained bruising is a classic sign of leukemia (and multiple other immune system diseases). that is the "really bad" end of bruising.
since you acknowledge that it's unusual, it's best to go to the doctor and get it checked out. since it has the potential to be really really really bad, it's better safe than sorry.

Another possibility is that you might be anemic. Anyway, next time you're at the doctor, mention it and see if there's tests he wants to run.

I bruise easily as well. The last thing I want to suggest is Leukemia. I think you should just eat plenty of veggies to build up your immune system. If anything, check it out with your doctor.

It may not last forever, I used to bruise easily when I was much younger, but now I don't really bruise anymore. See a doctor if it gets too extreme, and stay in good health. See what happens after. That's all I can recommend.

Just because she is bruising often doesn't mean she has leukemia. Jeez, don't scare her. My neighbor who is like two was bruising a lot. They took him to a doctor and something in his body was off balance - nothing serious.
& how would rubbing alcohol fix anything? Since a bruise is under the skin....

Hm. Interesting. I still don't see how it would work, but I'll keep that in mind next time I have a bruise.

My mom has the same problem. She gets bruises from the stupidest things like if she bumps into the couch, if a water bottle falls on her..she said that its because she has low blood pressure/thin skin.

Easy, lack of Iron. I advise you to start taking multi-vitamins... (Make sure it has vitamin K in it)
Or eat a bowl of spinach a few times a week for 2 weeks.
You don't need a doctor for this, that's a waste of time and money.

She could be anemic, which is slightly important for a doctor to know.

Very true... if it persist after instake of iron/vitamin k for a couple weeks, then definitely see a doctor. I understand that women also bruise easily during and after their periods... but you shouldn't keep getting bruises.
