i honestly think i'm obsessed. i just keep collecting and collecting.
anybody else like that?

oh, and what are your favorite nail polish colors?
and what colors do you think looks good on what skintones?

i love to wear corals/pinks/reds/oranges. and other pastel colors.
just 'cause i think they look good with my skin.
but i lovelovelove to get french mani's/pedi's at the nail salon. i cannot stand acrylic/fake nails anymore. they ruin my nails. :(

random topic, i know. but it's not like there aren't any already on cB. x

I like dark dark black-violet and black and VERY VERY sparkly nail-polish and mirror/metal-ish stuff. :)

I love nail polish, but I don't have much. I just have the essentials like black, white, pink, y'know. I love all colors, hehe. I've yet to see a brown one, though. Hmm. I don't think there's no rights or wrongs in what color you use, no matter what skin tone you are. I could be really wrong on this, but that's just what I think.
Gigi
I love really dark, almost black jewel tones. My current favourite is a very deep purple; I'm obsessed! Although most of the time I just go for a layer of topcoat...easy to maintain and simple.
PINAYSTER
hahaha!! funny.. i just put nail polish on last night!!
AND i haven't put nail polish on for many years!!

I just bought Chanel Gold Shimmer polish and it is the PRETTIEST color.

I usually wear light pink, bright red, clear with like...silver glitter, or just clear.

I don't wear nail polish because I'm a pianist =( And some teachers are SO obsessed with it. My friend painted her nails once, and her teacher refused to go on with the lesson until she went to the mall (across the street), bought a nail polish remover and took it off.. hahaha.

I'm more of a panty collector. And, no, they're not used.

I like dark colors, mostly because I know that when I'm older they won't look so good. I usually always wear nail polish because I work outside and nailpolish makes my nails tougher. When I don't paint them some odd color (usually black or deep red) I put on a neutral tan.
sprezzatura
I don't collect nail polish. Since I can't keep long nails for piano, nail polish won't look good on my nails. Besides, I just like the clear nail polish.
lkajsfklajskds
nope im not like that. the only nail polish i've ever worn was black and clear. i could've worn more since my cousins used to put nail polish on me when i was younger....they probably gave me anesthetics since i hardly remember a thing.

Ah! i just bought 2 new colors from Chanel...deauville (prolly THE prettiest pink i've ever worn) and tullipe noir (a perfect fall red, dark and gold flecks...omg amazing!). but my ultimate fav is essie's ballet slippers. when in doubt i wear that. but i try to stick to naturals, or shades of red and pink. i think the craziest color i've worn is OPI's lincoln park after dark, or a orangy-mango color. just stick to reds, pinks, and naturals. those look the best. and wear brights and pinks during the summer, and break out the darks for more drama during the winter!

oh, lord. I LOVE NAIL POLISH!!! i love bright colors. so, i pretty much have everything. pinks, reds/oranges, black, white, purples, blues, golds, sparkles.

i always have my fingers painted.

Wait...why would a piano teacher get mad at nail polish? I play piano pretty seriously myself and I'm pretty sure my teacher would be okay with it.
Jinny
I usually wear shades of pink, a light shade of tan/beige, and light colors. I don't like dark, bold colors.. idk why mellow.gif
Rachel
I go for everything; red, black, orange, pink, glittery, natural, metallic etc. I loooooove having acrylics and when they're on, I stick to french manicure. I just hate how tacky they look when they are solid.

I don't know, some teachers think it's distracting and they just don't like it. How seriously do you play - are you doing a degree or something?
hollywoodpink
errrgh. i just took off the french manicure i got at the salon and my nails are YELLOW.
they always turn yellow.

is there any way to avoid this??
i want white, clean nails.

i mean, they are clean, but... urgh, i dunno.

soak your fingers fresh lemon juice.
hollywoodpink
i saw this FAQ or something on the sally hansen website and it said to soak them in fresh lemon juice mixed with water... it didn't do much except wrinkle my fingers, which was really gross.

but it did say do it once a week so hopefully there'll be better results repeated times.

You could try buffing your nails... because usually it's only the first layer that's stained, and if you buff them, it might come off? Idk, it's worth a shot though. shrug.gif

Ohhh I see. I figure teachers would be more upset over long nails. *shrugs*

Nah, I don't think I'm going to pursue piano performance professionally but I am working towards becoming a legitimate teacher. Anyway, I don't wear nail polish all that much because it looks pretty crappy on the short nails of a pianist.

Yeah, I love the french manicure and clear
I don't know, but I guess I'm a "natural" color kind of person
chibichi15
happy.gif I love painting my nails. I go for natural colors and just plain wacky ones. I change it up every week.
Rachel

I know I'm so jelaous of non-pianist females when it comes to nails. Haha my hands have been ugly my whole life.

Ooh, sounds nice! Yeh, I used to do my own and paint my own nails but now I just go get them done with some simple airbrush pattern or something.
EmoEyelinerx
I usually paint my nails black.
Rachel
I am debating going back to acrylics tomorrow...
hollywoodpink
I need to buy a buffer. This lemon juice crap isn't helping. stubborn.gif
I also want to buy a brush that manicurists use to do a really good french manicure. Then I could do them all buy myself, without those icky stickers.
