I've been trying to decide what classes I want to take next year... I'll be at a new school, so I have no clue what to expect. I'll finally be on a block schedule! yay!

Which two classes would be better to take - Chemistry II and AP Chem, or Anatomy & Physiology Honors and Physics? Which would be the most difficult, and which would be the most beneficial?

Also, does anyone know how English IV Honors would compare to AP English Composition, or AP Literature?

Would a schedule like this be too much to handle?

(first semester)
- AP Lit
- Math Analysis
- Either Anat & Phys or Chem II
- Life Management / Economics Honors

(second semester)
- AP Eng
- Pre Calc
- Either Physics or AP Chem
- AP Art History

I just have no clue what to expect with AP classes, since my last school didnt offer them... I'm probably worried for no reason though.

Any suggestions/advice?

If you're smart (haha) you should be fine! :) You only have to take 4 classes? o_0 But, yeah, a lot of the kids at my school take 7 AP classes EVERY year. But, then again, they're the ones in top 10%.

Take Anatomy and Physiology! It's soooo much fun! I had to take it and Microbiology my sophomore year (not the same semester though) and both were awesome.

Also, I'd take Physics. I hated Chem and AP Chem is hard from what I've heard.

Well, I'm smart - just extremely ADD.
Last year my gpa was around a 3.4, without even trying. I was an Agnostic Liberal stuck in a ultra-Conservative Christian school. So I guess I was being rebellious without even trying to be.

Well, there's only enough time for 4 classes a day, since each class lasts an hour and a half. Dang, 7? That's crazy.


Really? I think that's what I might do then. Chem is really that much harder? That's good to hear though... I dont personally know anyone who's taken it before, so I have no clue. Thanks!

For science, I suggest the latter option unless you'll be majoring in something like Biology or Chemistry (pre-med, basically). If you are planning on majoring in a science, you'll still have to take Chemistry in college, but you'll be ahead in understanding. If the medical field is your worst nightmare, then Physiology can be supah fun (and not to mentione easy).

Most juniors and seniors will take AP English Lit over AP English Comp, so I suggest AP English Lit.

I think you're right - Anat & Phys and Physics would probably be the easiest, but the only thing is... I plan on being a Nurse. So would Physics be a total waste then?

Really? So does that mean that AP English Comp is easier than the Lit? I wonder if Eng Comp requires any less reading? I hate Literature lol.

AP chem would be the hardest though, since it's an AP class. (So I suggest moving that class to first semester, if possible.)

My school doesn't offer English IV honors AT ALL, honors seniors are forced to take AP lit (we don't even have AP comp...we just have lit.)

^ But in order to take AP Chem, I have to take Chem II the first semester. So that wouldnt work out.

Woah, really? That's weird... especially if they have English III honors.

I loved Chemistry. It really depends what kind of thing you want to go into; the subjects you mentioned teach you how to comprehend different things.

I would rather take Anatomy & Physiology and Physics, because I hated Chemistry I. But AP Chemistry would be more beneficial for college.

At my school, anatomy honors is a weighted class, so it is pretty challenging. Well, it really depends on what types of science you like the most. If you are okay with memorizing all the body parts, then you would do fine in anatomy (since memorizing is a big part in learning anatomy). Also, AP chem is better if you are good at math, or at least if you are more...mathematical.

Well, Human Biology and Health related sciences are definitely what I'm more experienced and most interested in... so I'm starting to think I would enjoy Anatomy & Physiology the most. I'm thinking about being a nurse, so I think taking it would be beneficial.

But then again, I'm also thinking about Engineering. So if I'm going to be an Engineer, the Chemistry would be more beneficial. Ahhhhh. I think I'm just going to do eeny meeny miny moe and be done with it.
