I get it, & im in love with it already.... what u do is, if u know who that IP address belongs to, u find their myspace/hi5/LJ username, like myspace would be ur url, the name u chose for ur myspace link, its not suppose to be urs unless you know ur IP address & wanna put in ur info as well. well you put in which site ur identifying & the persons username.. then their default pic will show up & its registers to that IP address, so every time they come up on ur tracker ull see their pic as well.... its like identifying the person whos coming to ur page. Get people to comment u so u can figure out their IP addresses!!!! If ya need help.... PM me!

umm well myspace didnt block any Image use on Myspace for about me sections. Cuz when I plugged my new tracking code into it, it showed the picture but the tracker just wasnt working.
instead of the single quotes like this ' i replaced those signs with the real " and it worked.

Most of my visitors turn up as 0.0.0.0, which makes the tracker entirely useless. There's also far too much scrolling needed to get an overview, and the layout is just terribly impractical on the whole.
Like so much else on the 'net these days, CB has become bloated, for no good reason. Wouldn't it at least be possible to allow people to choose whether they want v1 or v2, like Livejournal did with their styles?
Also, the update seems very focused on Myspace. For Livejournal users, there appears to be no benefits whatsoever, only drawbacks.

I also could not get a tracker code to work & just see views from yesterday. So I dleeted the tracker & am trying to start over, but I cannot figure it out! HELP!!

I've read previous entries and i too am having the same issues. blank page to update tracker code, but I guess we're not supposed to do that ANYWAY. No red link at top of page used to "re-start" your tracker...i guess i'll wait for all these glitches to be worked out.
BUt when you click on someones name that has visited your site, then you click on "last ten visits tracked" or something like that...what exactly does that mean?

I agree...I think this one will be realy nice once all the bugs get worked out. I can't believe people are complaining like this about a FREE service.

It is not complaining, it is just stating an opinion, with all my respects and thanks for the effort. Yes, I insist that i prefer v1 so much, like many others said. The layout was so much simpler, clearer and straightforward.
I wish it was made optional as they said, not to have to have v2, even if it worked, with no choice.
The work wouldnt be useless, if v2 stayed for those who see it useful, but there seem to be many who did prefer v1, so that would be more useful for them too... and they lived happily ever after

I deleted everything to start over, but like the others I just get a blank page when I look for a code. I agree the simpler version was best. I really hope we can use v1 again and track myspace - i'd be lost without it.
Does the old code even work for anyone right now? If so, does anyone have the code, I deleted mine, and now I can't find it anywhere.
i agree with LRA, yes we know its a free service, the fact that its free has nothing to do with it. it doesnt matter that its free, we just wanna see if anything has been figured out to get it to work because right now, it doesnt. just because its free, doesnt mean we are not gonna say anything when it doesnt work...and the V1 was better, the layout for the new one is strange. that said, if the V2 was the first one we ever got, we might not of liked a new one brought out. as i said in a previous post, its all about getting used to something, or preferring what your used to. me and others on here, prefer what we are used to. nothing wrong with that. the V2 could be great, when it gets worked out. but i think the layout of it needs to be worked on. this is called CONSTRUCTIVE CRISITSIM. it should be welcomed!!!
Im glad Im not the only one who tried to start over with the v2. Im going through withdrawals though because I keep getting stopped at the blank screen!! Hope it will all be fixed soon because I miss my tracker

Just wanted to add my 2 cents...
I loved the old tracker because of what so many have already expressed previously - it was simple and straightforward. At a glance I was able to see new hits and how they ranked below this section in order of hit count. I knew who many of the people were who were checking my page so, in a way, it was almost like a bidding race at times to see if so and so was going to take the hit lead in front of another so and so.
With that said, I have to say that I also really appreciate many of the new features of v.2. No, it's not as streamlined but I like the fact that I can now identify the people hitting my page with their pictures. Of course, it doesn't work with everyone since, for whatever reason, some people's IP number shows up as 0.0.0.0 (any inclination as to why that is???)- yet with the city and state corresponding, I do know who some of them are without being able to identify them as I can with the others who show complete IP's regardless of whether the city and state are shown initially before identification.
I do like the old graph formatting from v.1 with the bottom to top graphing bars over the newer top to bottom arrangement - but I do like the new feature that allows you to hover over the bar and see the daily count. With v.1 that was a bit of educated guesswork if you didn't want to click on the actual date and view the total hit count for previous days.
Regardless, as another wise person wrote in previously, this service is !!FREE!! so I'm certainly not going to fuss overmuch about how the final v.2 turns out when all is said and done. It's evident that so much hard work and effort has been put into the new version and I, for one, really admire and appreciate what you've done based on what I've seen so far. It's become an invaluable tool for me. I do have another tracker on my page but I've noticed that this one, although not as detailed with information as the other, does actually track hits better. If I flip back and forth between the two, the other misses at least two hits in between every one that this one tracks. That's yet another reason why I love this tracker!!
So.... any ideas as to when it will actually be up and working???

Same problem, cant see any links to restart it. Code pages are blank as well. Mines been down since the 28th though. I liked v1's simplicity as well, but yet seeing the pics is nice too so im biased. Would be nice if we could have like v1 with a link to click to go view pics like v2 has.
I have been scrounging around looking for other trackers and man! Some dont show ip's or you have to go through 50 links just to gather the info that v1 showed right there on one simple page. Honestly v1 was really a great tool and I wish I had it working right now.

Jusun is upgrading the tracker, so the tracker v1, the one you have, hasn't been working for the past couple days. Be patient! The new and improved one is on its way. ... and maybe "fixing" them still won't allow MySpace to be tracked b/c of settings or rules MySpace may implement... right? So if there are bugs with this new tracker... where most everyone is having some kind of issue with it... I'm on board too with going back to the older version of the tracker! B/c I haven't been able to find the magical "Tracker Code" (not under the graph) that we're supposed to use since the other "Tracker Code" page is just a blank page...?

you know how there's the option to "identify" the ip... if you identify an ip, does the rest of cb see the identity? or just you? i mean, i don't wanna go identifying my friends' ips if the rest of the cb community can see it.

Any news on the tracker v2? I need the tracker code again. Mine isn't on my MySpace anymore. I also tried the tracker from Hitslink.com.... didn't work for me either. I put the code in all the sections (about me, videos, music, etc.) and it still didn't work. It kept showing the entire code on my page. I can not stress how much I loved/love the tracker v1 & v2 (head over heels for v2). I can't wait until it's up and running again. Anywhoooo, can anyone help??? PPPLLLLEEEAAASSSSEEE??????!!! Thanks a bunch!
