Thats right, Avril Lavigne is launching a MANGA!
Its called "Make 5 Wishes" and it is basically about a girl that reflects Avril's life

QUOTE
Hana just doesn’t fit in. At school, she feels like the invisible girl. (“No. Not invisible. Being invisible would’ve been cool. I just wasn’t worth noticing.”) And at home, she avoids her parents’ arguments by retreating to her bedroom, where she spends hours online, playing the part of various cool, smart, sexy, and popular alteregos, and kicks back with her all-time idol and very best (though only in her imagination) friend, rebel rocker Avril Lavigne. One night she runs across a mysterious website called Make5Wishes.com. Somehow, she can’t click away–and before she knows it, she’s ordered a package guaranteed to make dreams come true. But will it end up being a Pandora’s box? It all depends on the lovable but wily demon inside. Is Hana sure she knows what she wants? And does she know that what you want can be very different from what you get?
ew. i'm not reading it

She's trying to make money in anyway possible.
I guess her managers told her the alternative crowd is a large part of the fanbase of manga and she jumped on the wagon.
It's probably well written and with seemingly great art.
Too bad I'll never look into it because it has her repulsive money-hungry face on it.

Ew no. This series fails at life.

hhmmmm... I strongly believe
real manga isn't written by american pop stars. If singing is her buisness .. then she should stick to singing. Not writing books. And plus there are a lot more manga out there that i hope are better than this one. wow. Well beauty is in the eye of the beholder. but i'm not going to read it, it isnt worth my time. sry avril.

(maybe that was a bit harsh.)

Timeline of Avril Lavigne's life:
1. Created image of hardcore punk rocker
2. Got repeatedly called a poseur
3. Told the world she was being misunderstood and tried to play the victim
4. Got engaged to another pop/rock artist
5. Changed her image to try and redeem herself and show she had a "good side"
6. Tried to go into the modeling industry
7. Decided to start a manga
And I can already predict what this crapfest will be about:
A girl who's a little rebel who's frequently misunderstood. She tries to break out into the rock scene and stirs controversy because of her hardcore ways, but then she gets in touch with her sensitive and feminine side and finds true love. Ooh, beautiful. You're so deep.
Wow. Story of a true rocker. You rock, Avril. You rock.

^ LOL I hear that.
The problem is that she has no identity of her own, so she has to perpetually redefine herself. This seems like a silly thing to do on the surface, but from a marketing perspective, it's brilliant.
I'm not surprised at this at all. I may be being over judgemental, but she doesn't seem to be in this industry for the art at all, it's all about money. Then again, most quote unquote artists these days are in it for similiar gain.

Well yeah, I guess this thing could sell. Cause you know, Avril's pretty hot over at japan. And yeah. I don't think she's into art at all. Cause the cover page looks like something done from a pretty decent middle schooler who decide to put 2 sketches into photoshop and play around with it for the very first time.
This whole thing is just a shot at getting more fame and money.

Is it a manga detailing her time in rehab? Because that would be interesting. XD

Er... *goes back to reading Death Note*
er... death note sucked after L died and Near took over. Near = L wanna be. And Mello should go kill himself.
I liked Miles though (or w/e his name was. The videogame geek).
Seriously I never take manga created by westerners seriously. And the plot (i read the first 3 sentences woot) is too cliche and stupid.
I remember in E they featured something about her life. And her childhood wasn't something or at least anywhere near what you'd expect from a stereotypical rock star.
And her music is NOT rock.
She is NOT a victim.
She IS a loser.
Er... *goes back to reading Claymore, Nana, Berserk, and Battle Royale*

I saw a preview for it on an anime channel on digital cable. I had no idea it was from Avril Lavigne, but the first volume had a sweet storyline. I'm going to browse through it next time I go to B&N or Borders.

I watched/read it up to the most current "episode" and it's OKAY, but it's on overused plot. AND it's NOT a manga. Manga is not something created by POP STARS. It's a comic with manga inspired art as someone said earlier.
