I think if you commit suicide.
Maybe depending on the reason why..
You can set foot in heaven
I mean, if a women has been like raped, abused, and just
like had hell throughout her whole life..
and commits suicide i don't think God will look down upon that.

because when you die, you don't suffer anymore.
and i believe when you die you get to come back and live as another person i think its called reincarnation
i'm not sure i'm not that religious but i do believe in God

also, if someone is really depressed and they don't want to live there life anymore, maybe God will let theyre idk soul i guess be in heaven and let them live a different happy life..

don't you think so?

^ Yes, but if you murder someone, you are still ALIVE and have a chance to ask God for forgiveness.

If you kill yourself, you don't have time to ask for forgiveness after you commit the sin because you ARE DEAD.

actually, no. if you die you do have time to ask for forgivness
you actually think when you die you disapear? lol please.
your soul is still alive.

or whatever.

just your body is dead
you being your soul can still ask for forgivness or something.

^This reminds me of Miss North Carolina. Great speach. I almost understood it.

First of all, I don't understand how people mix religions. There is no reincarnation in the Bible.
Steven
And second? Haha.

Also this debate revolves around the assumption that there is a heaven and afterlife.
Kontroll
Well, there must be some type of afterlife. If we were brought about through a big bang, of sorts, would there really be an afterlife? If science went by that theory, would the spiritual world be evolving as well?

If existence was brought in by God, then there was space between from the non existent beginning point, and the creation of the world. That leaves room for the spiritual.

Are you presuming that their is a gap for people's spirits? That makes no sense, since from what I gathered, human spirits either go to heaven or hell.
You should explain your statement further, like, go more in depth

I don't even understand your argument (well half of it) and it seems like you don't exactly either.

Once you die, I am not saying you disappear, but you are either going to heaven or hell if you recieved Christ.

If you were a TRUE Christian in Christ, I believe no matter what you have gone through, you understand that God let it happen, and He is still with you and helping you through each step of your life.

Spirits can't make decisions like 'I accept Christ' or 'I don't except Christ.' Why? Well I am just using this as an example, though I am not sure how well this will work.

IF SPIRITS WE ABLE TO CHOSE TO BELIEVE CHRIST OR NOT....

Somewhere in the Gospels (Matthew Mark Luke, or John), a story is recorded about a Rich man and a Poor man (which was a leper I believe, or blind... or was it crippled, i relaly can't remember). The Rich man basically never came to God and never helped out the poor man. The poor man would beg for the crumbs of the Rich man. Well the poor man ended up dying, then the rich man. Well the poor man went to Heaven and the rich man to Hell. And when the rich man was in Hell, over a great gap of space, he saw the poor man sitting with Abraham. The Rich man yelled over to the poor man to spare him some water, for he saw how wonderfully the poor man was living.

Don't you think that the Rich man would have accepted Christ once he saw how great and awesome it was over there compared to Hell, with unquenchable thirst?

Also, yeah, reincarnation is never mentioned in the Bible....... And I am just confused with people who mix that stuff, just my opinion though... :/

No, I don't mean that there is a gap for people's spirits. What I'm saying is that there must be space from the beginning to the creation of the world if there is a possibility of a Heaven or Hell. It's basically a time line.

<GOD------|CREATION|---------------->

There is a space between God and Creation. That must have existed in order for an afterlife to be possible.

It's the same thing with the universe. In order for God to be existent is some realm, the universe must have boundaries. If it was never ending, than the spiritual realm would co-exist with that of the non-spiritual. It just must be. Same goes for that gap.

What about the metaphysical world Jake? I think some people have mistaken the metaphysical world for the spiritual world. I think its possible for the energy of the body to be changed on occasion into something else, something temporary, maybe this is why some people see ghosts. Does this mean there is a heaven. NO! GAWWDD!!

For what is true reality? What is being? The only concept of true being we have is a God, that is the reason for their existence. I say "their" because Christianity and Jeudaism are far from the oldest religions. Jeudaism is pretty old, but Christianity is practically brand new in terms of religious age. The greeks were praying to Zeus and all those guys for a long mutha fudgin time, somthing like 8'000 years(Im just making that up), look into it, its true. Hindus too. In fact, Id be more inclined to believe the complexity of the ancient Greek religion than the simplistic ideas of the One all powerful. Bottom line, God is a genie. Jesus, he is Aladdin. The apostles, that rug and the tiger and the monkey. Jesus' bitch, Aladdin's bitch.

I had a friend commit suicide years ago. Last year I went to this
phychic medium that I heard was very good. I never talked with him
before the reading. He was GREAT! My sister who was killed shown up.
Mike ended his life hitting a trailer head on, on his motorcycle. He
was suicidal after losing his girlfriend.

Mike shown up, he made the comment that there is no beer or pot in
heaven. The phychic laughed then said that he didn't know why he said
that. I laughed because that sounds like Mike. Other remarks made by Mike
was proof that it was him. As with my sister, her personality was loud
and clear. Nine people that I knew who crossed over had shown up. I was
amazed!

I was brought up a christian, and was taught that there is a heaven
and a hell. There is God and a devil, etc.... There is a Heaven and God!
But man kind invented hell and a devil, that was obvious after the reading!

Before you come here to live on earth, you have a chart that you
made being in heaven. When you finish your chart, you die, or you go
back home which is heaven. If you commit suicide, you still have to
finish your chart, so you come back and live another life. Reincarnation
is another subject. But we can and most of us do to perfect the soul.

For some reason, all my life I believed in reincarnation. The
phychic touched on that with me. He mentioned a few of my lives. I carry
a strong vibration that I died in WWII in my last life. He told me
the name of the ship that I was on, told me what state that I lived in
when I enlisted in the Navy. He said that I died from an explosion, my
body was partly burned and I drowned in the water. He gave me a name.

I did my home work on this! I looked up the US Navy memorial
on the web. I found the ships that I was on and a couple of pictures
of me at 19 years old from 1938. The pictures freaked me out! I look
almost the same in this life at 19 as I did then, only I had black
hair and now im blonde in this life.

I mention my reincarnation only to prove that this phychic
is for real. As with Mike who died from suicide, he is in heaven but
he has to complete his purpose.

The phychic said, "When you cross over, you go through a life
review. Every feeling and emotion you felt in that life, you will re-
experience, then every feeling and emotion that you caused in others,
you will experience that also." So basically what you do to others is
what you do to yourself!

It took 3 months to get in to see this phychic, he wasn't
cheap, but well worth it! So if you treat people good, your going to
feel it. If you treat people like hell, your going to feel that too!

Take care everyone. Ken28

I'm Wiccan, so I'm not sure, but I think the the Bible says something about it being God's decision.

Depends on how you define suicide. Some say euthanasia is suicide. I believe in the right to die. I think people (especially americans) are far too obsessed with happiness. Must be something wrong with you if you aren't bouncing off the walls with joy. Unhappiness is also a normal part of life and don't need a pill for every little inconvenience. How you cope with unhappiness is where suicide comes in. Or if you're terminally ill, perfectly ok to pull the plug. Technically, not giving life sustaining meds or machines IS doing it God's way. Without them you would die.....those things are man-made inventions to prolong our lives. I think there's a life after death and something higher in intelligence than we are, be it God or an alien, who knows? If there is a judgement day, I think you are judged by the rules you set for yourself. Or maybe I'm wrong. I just stopped to think how many people don't practice what they preach. Christianity makes God seem like a petty tyrant full of vengeance. I don't think he's that petty. I also believe what comes around goes around. What ever wrong you do in life will come back and bite you in the ass....probably long before you get the chance to find out if there's a heaven. I believe in God because I can't honestly say that our physical world is the only one. There could be dozens of alternate realities out there or planes of existance. Heaven is a realm outside of our physical one.

^did you answer the question of the thread in there amongst your rambling about aliens and karma?
Rhianann
Ok, to make it clear. Yes you go to heaven, or the after life, or whatever you want to call it.
illriginal
You go to hell. Stop being morons. Assuming there really is heaven and hell.
This shouldn't even be a debate, it should be practically common sense.

in most religions that has a god besides satan or the devil, if you kill yourself its an automatic trip to hell.

God has given us life. We should be appreciating it and making full use of it. But some people just won't appreciate what God has given them, so they commit suicide because they believe that the situation they're in is impossible to get out from. When actually, God has a way out. There might be things that are impossible for humans, but it is never impossible for God laugh.gif . So i guess if you commit suicide, you'll go to hell. This is an opinion of a Christian :)

why should we be thankful that god gave us life. it's not like there was a choice. it's also not like anyone would regret/know/give a shit if he hadn't. did you care before god gave you life?

LOL. You didn't have to add that last sentence, honey...that was pretty obvious. But, I have to say that there have been a lot of people who have committed suicide and it wasn't because they don't appreciate what God has given them, there is usually more to it than that.

Is this true?

ForgiveTheSinner
Suicide is destroying a gift that was given to you.

So yea, you go to hell...pretty deep down there too. And the rest will be laughing at you.

Brooklyn, because the angels of God asked to become mortals. To experience mortal life, emotions, pain, etc... they didn't have knowledge of mortal life. They were in the form of "souls" not physical beings such as humans. God gives free will to everything that exists.... even the stars, the moons... every molecule that exists in this infinite universe has free will. God didn't forbid his angels from becoming mortals, he allowed it.

We're all angels in mortal bodies. Our mortal bodies are the vessels of our souls.
