last night, when i was stretching, i discovered that i had a knot-like thing behind my right ear. it's not on the other side, so i told my mom. you can only feel it when i turn my neck, so that leads me to believe that it may be the bone. my grandma thought that it might be a lymphnode. my dad said that it was probably a knot. it is pretty tender and sore, especially when you touch it. i'm not sure what it is, or if i should worry about it. my mom will most likely be making me a doctor's appt. soon, though.

if it's right behind your ear, like where it connects with the rest of your head, then i *think* it's probably a lymph node. swollen from infection, not necessarily serious. just your body just trying to fight off a virus or whatever.

If it really hurts, you probably should get it checked out. I have no idea what that might be. :/

Its probably just a gland that is swollen. dont touch it too much that will irritate it.

Could be either. Could also be a goiter, which comes when you have a deficiency of salt. Very common in Africa, but we have tons of salt so that probably isn't the issue, unless you're anti-salt or something. Anyways, could very well be a knot or a lymph node.

I had that once...had no clue what the hell it was, but I never went to a doctor or anything. It just went away after a few weeks or so. Maybe your's will too? If it doesn't after a bit longer or it really starts to irritate you, then yeah, doctor might be best.

Thats sounds odd.

Maybe you just have a swollen lymph node as everyone else said. Let's see what the doctor says.

Wikipedia
MedicineNet
It's basically just a collection of fluids in your joints or your muscles, and possibly in other places. It's a lot like a calcium buildup, which could also be what this is. One of the sites said it could only be removed through surgery, but I've had three or four pop up every 5 years or so on my wrist, and they last for a few months and just go away.
I hope you've gotten it checked out by now.

Did you bang it? Sleep with your neck turned?
Honestly, I think that is your best bet... see a doctor.
