your welcome I remember when I didn't have my iPod I went crazy so I just thought I would help someone else out. As for weather or not they break or die faster they do but thats only if you don't take care of them.

Yes Cases have been very successful in helping a mp3 player last longer. you underestimate your knowledge of mp3 players. if you do get one I recommend getting a case with a lanyard or clip of some sort to prevent it from dropping.

I have a Red iPod Nano. It's sort of boring. If you want something more amusing than music & photos, get an iPod Video or the new iPod Nano.

i know, i must be so deprived of the music industry, right? nahh, i have my ways.
i really want my sound card fixed, though
and im not out looking for an ipod or anything else. right now, its not so important to me. but im pretty positive that if i had one, i would be inseperable =]

Well I personally have a iPod mini, iPod (5th generation), and my mom has an iPod mini.
I really like the iPod (5th generation) since I love watching tv shows on it while I am working out. If you like that on your iPod though, get a high number of gigs. Mine went by quickly (I have a 30G)
