I got mine taken out in December, and as soon as I got home, one of the first things I did was eat some Jello and some pudding.

For the first two days after the surgery, that's all I ate, along with mashed potato from KFC, Frosties from Wendy's, and custard. I probably would have eaten soup if I liked it.

On the third day I was actually able to eat solid food. I ate scrambled eggs, and in the evening I had two little hamburgers from McDonalds. I found that those were easy to eat because they were so soft, although I had to be careful to only eat in the middle of my mouth so that no food got stuck in the cavities. On the fifth or six day, I was pretty much able to eat as normal, but only with extreme caution. If you suck too much when you're eating, you'll get dry socket. So be sure to eat things that you don't have to suck on.

Although from what I understand, eating solid food on the third day is not too common, so I wouldn't expect that to be the same for you. You should just stock up on lots of liquid and soft food. ;)

(You could have just asked this in the wisdom teeth thread..)

I couldn't eat anything substantial for like a week+ afterwards. I stuck to popsicles, which I actually don't recommend, soup, oatmeal, lots of juice, egg/tuna salad sandwiches (also hard to eat the first week). I basically didn't really eat for a week+, not a good way to lose weight but oh well. Also, make sure to take your pain pills before you eat ANYTHING.

PS, google is your friennnnd.

Wisdom teeth are overrated. I say that because I've never had mine pulled. I did, however, have 5 teeth stuck to the bone pulled when I was in 5th grade due to other teeth not growing/necesity for braces. It hurt for a few days, but I got a lot of ice cream / malts.

Are you sure about that?
I was told not to take them on an empty stomach, and the one time I did, I nearly puked.

Ouch. That sounds so painful.

My wisdom teeth haven't even grown yet, so I don't know if that's good or bad. I've never had teeth removed, or cavities. Just enamal filled in. My friend just had his out a couple weeks ago and he got vicadin, which killed most of his pain.

I usually took them right before I ate, therefore the stomach wouldn't be empty by the time they kicked in. Meh, maybe I've just taken too much vicodin/percs for them to make me feel nauseous.

i ate popsicles and that was it for 3 days :]

the ice cream part was good.

the pain/bleeding sucked.

Ice cream is the answer for everything!

Can you get them pulled out if they haven't actually came out yet? Mine aren't out yet, but they are growing in the direction of the teeth in front of them and it's pushing my teeth forward. ew

yep. got mine pulled for that reason, i think.

Oh and supposedly Lypton tea bags work well if you have problems with bleeding, like I did.

Yep, I think it's best to get them out as early as possible. I got mine out before they came anywhere close to breaking through the gums. I hear it's a little more painful to wait till they grow in.

I just got them taken out this past Monday and it was extremely painful and disgusting. When I got home I ended up throwing up blood from where I had swallowed it either during surgery or after when I was waking up. Then later on that night I ended up throwing up the rest of the blood that was in my stomach. My face is now swollen as crap and my sinuses are still open. The pain pills have been knocking me out. I've only been able to eat applesauce, yogurt, mac & cheese and shakes.

^Feel better.That must be painful.

Aw yeah, feel better.
At least the pain pills are knocking you out. They tweaked me out and made it so I couldn't sleep. O_O

I had to get a prescription for sleeping pills.

try not to use straws, at least not with anything thick like shakes. make sure you rinse, like i think someone else said above.

oh, and mashed potatoes are good if you want more variety. =P

I'm supposed to have mine out soon... not looking forward to it sad.gif

I ate ALOT of soup. Moastly everything that had to do with noodles. I also ate alot of apple sause and yogurt.

Important: Your not suppost to use straws! They reopen the whole you got your wisdom teeth pulled from.
