And I'm aware of the Music topic in the
Entertainment forum. This is not for
listing preference of Genre or what
Album you've recently bought.
I want to know what you guys specifically play,
Why you love it, what drives you, etc.

Drums and guitar. Piano too, but not very well I'd like to get better at it.
I play just because it calms me down, and its fun I guess. And when I was younger if there was a song I liked I'd be like, man I wish I could play that, and its cool to actually be able to.

I feel this is more appropriate in the lounge. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I play the piano, it makes me feel calm.

I play piano, guitar(acoustic preferrably), cello, bass, and drums all well, along with singing in the advanced chamber choir at my high school. My favorite by far is piano. I've played it most of my life, and i love just being able to go and play whatever i feel. My mom is an amazing pianist, and one of us is always on one of the two pianos in the house, so when she was in the hospital with cancer, she hated the sound of everything in the hospital. So every day I drove to the hospital with my keyboard and played whatever she wanted for however long she wanted. I guess what keeps me going is knowing i helped my mom through the toughest part of her life with the piano.

The exoticness of the turntable versus traditional instruments played a significant part in attracting turntablism to me. I find myself practicing every day, because hey, I love it. Also, I'm never bored anymore ever since I got into this.

the piano.
my grandmother gave us her piano, and she started out to teach us. then in 1995, she passed away and me and my sister took up lessons.

even though i don't take lessons anymore, from time to time i will still play because it's sort of the only tie i have left with my grandmom. i was only 5 at that point, and don't remember her much. but i will always remember her and her piano playing.

The piano. I haven't played in years though. I think that it is such a passionate and romantic instrument. The sounds can range from soft and soothing to desperate and angry.
What made me love the piano so much was Chopin, originally. I would listen to his music and the world just seemed to stop. In my later years, I began to appreciate and admire Tori Amos, whose originality and nearly odd relationship with the piano intrigued me.

Hello fellow 6-stringed acoustic guitar player!
I started playing mainly to support my song writing, but it's also cool to know that I can play some of my favorite songs by my favorite artists. And at the end of the day I'm amazed by the sound, no matter how many times I play.
And there's also the flute. I like it simply because it's familiar to me. I've been playing for a good set of years now and I'm more comfortable with playing the flute than I am with my guitar.
