teishya
Had to read it Freshman year. At first I hated it, but then I learned to like it. Enjoyed it actually. haha. Not so much the movie though, comes in handy for SAT essays. (: Atticus ftw!
VaeVictis

I keep meaning to read it, but never really get around to.

I've seen the movie so I know what it's about, but I'll get around to reading the book someday ^ ^

Oh you SO should get round to it... Really, I can't recommend it highly enough.

I'm naming one of my children Jem, and the other Holden. Well, OK, no I'm not, but I would.

^ I might make one of my kid's middle names Atticus...he's the best character of all time, if you ask me.
Joss-eh-lime
It was kind of boring.
The message from it was good, but it wasn't at all a fun read for me.
I was forced to watch the movie, to complete a project.

You know what it's a book i would never pick up if the school didn't make me read it but of all literature's I read in school, this was the best book in my opinion.
Amay
I didn't like it.
I actually don't like any of the required books we had to read, except for Les Miserables.
I loved the condensed version of that book.
Sandraaa
My sister bought it and just recently finished reading it. According to her, it was great. I'm too lazy to pick it up.
TaintedSakura
it was really hard to understand... I didnt like the accents if that made sense?.. lol
Sandraaa
I finished it today! pinch.gif Haha. It was WONDERFUL! I loved it completely. Although Boo Radley gave me the creeps. ermm.gif
holdinon2me
I thought it was a pretty good book considering i had to read it for school and most of the books they make us read have been terrible
iinstantGLAM
I read it before and watched the movie.
In the end of September, all the FBLA members had to read a certain amount of chapters in the mall.
We were right in front of Victoria's Secret doing this.
I was so embarrassed to get up the podium in front of everyone, especially with our t-shirts. They made them so ugly lol.
I felt so stupid. All I was thinking about was the microphone messing up. pinch.gif
brooklyneast05

miszxjojo

barbieeedollxo
i hated it so freakin much. lol
i love to read but i couldn't make it thru this book.

I actually really liked this book. We read it my freshman year, and although I haven't read it since, I can still remember bits and pieces of it. I think it's the only book I enjoyed reading in high school.

Isn't this like the 2nd best selling book, next to the bible?

I even had fish named Scout and Atticus. Atticus died the first time I cleaned the tank, then Hitler and Scout ate Henry Ford, then Scout died, so now I'm just left with Hitler and I haven't cleaned the tank since.
EddieV
I read this in 7th grade. I didn't really seem to interest me till last year though.
xCutUpAngelxxx
I don't honestly see how you can compare To Kill a Mockingbird to the Harry Potter series.

But, I had to read it in 7th or 8th grade (don't remember which). It was pretty good. Some parts were a little hard for me to understand at first, but it wasn't boring or anything.
I didn't like the movie, though.
MissHygienic
Read it. Put it down, and then never picked it up again. It's not the best book in the world, and I wouldn't put it on my list of good reads.
RealTalk
It's defiantly one of the best book I've read for required reading.
freeridefight
I hated it thumbsup.gif

It's definitely one of my favorite books. I just loved the story!
illmortal
I hated it... only because I was forced to read it and do a book report on it -.-
angelaaa92
i read it for school when i was in 7th grade. i liked it. it was the best book we read all year. i also liked the movie, which we watched in school.
Just_Dream
I remember I enjoyed reading it back in 8th grade, but sadly I don't much from it. That's what happens when I read books for school projects and such. Except Animal Farm and The Jungle. Oh man those two were fun to read. :P

I think To Kill a Mockingbird was a very mature book at the time that I read it.. There were so many ambiguous implications. :P
fosheezy
i enjoyed the book & the movie.
when i read it 2 years ago,
i thought that the beginning was a bit boring,
but once i kept reading because i had to for school,
i started liking it.
it was pretty good :D
illmortal
I read this book and I hated it. Only because at the time I was a hardcore mythology book worm and my stupid teacher gave us the assignment to read the book and turn in a book report =\

I don't take orders all that well in school, I hated being told what to read, what chapters to read, when to read them, bah!

Merge my post please -,-
Archana
the book was amazing! i wouldn't say the plot was too great, kind of cliche in my opinion, but the style of it was really well portrayed. telling it from scout's point of view was perfect! i loved the description of summer days, and i loved the scenes with dill :) it reminds me of youth.
austinoutloud
I was so about to make a thread about this. Until I saw this one. But yeah, we JUST finished reading it today. I actually thought it was really good; I haven't really enjoyed a book that I was forced to read in a while. But seriously, it was actually really funny...

Things I remember from the book...

"I ain't ever heard of no (negro) snowman!"

"The Methodists had to pay off their church dues, so they challenged the Baptists to a game of touch football."

LMAO.
Heartourbeat
ah i didnt like it at all. i guess i just cant get into that kind of thing..lol
xhidethedetails
We had to read it in 9th grade. Not my type of book.
