In hotel room #1408, a writer, known for his ghost stories and haunted tales, gets a taste of his own fiction when his stay turns into a night of fright.

It's coming out on June 22nd in theaters! The plot sounds cool. It's based on a short story by Stephen King. I hope the movie won't disappoint me.

I keep seeing this everywhere, but never really heard the plot. I don't know, it doesn't make much sense to me. They had like 50 some deaths... why let the guy in?

What are you people talking about?? I liked this one! I didn't think it was spectacular, but I thought it was worth seeing.
Honestly, this is not a scary movie. It's a bunch of scary images popping up at you at very predictable times, so don't expect to be sleepless for weeks after you see this one. I think the actual "horror" in this movie was the turnoff, but the storyline in itself was great.
A man living a selfish life and being confronted by his biggest insecurities in an "evil" room but because of his strength could survive the stages of hell without giving up and realise the errors of his ways. Brilliant! Well ... that was more Stephen King's doing.
There were several parts where the whole theatre laughed, gasped, screamed and groaned! It'll make you go through a whirlwind of emotions. A psychological thriller for sure.
Watch it!

There were only five people in the room where we were watching it haha.
But like it wasn't as scary as I had hoped it'd be.

I read the short story back when I was about 15 and then read it again before the movie came out, and I say that if they had stuck to all the scenarios in the story, it would've been better.
But the original story's only like, 55 pages long, so I understand that they had to add some extra things, but a lot of things that didn't need to be changed were and that kind of pissed me off.
The book freaked me out more than the movie.
And I couldn't get over the fact that Samuel L. Jackson was in the movie. I just kept waiting for him to say, "I'm sick of these motherf***in' ghosts in this motherf***in' room!"
Gah, I should've just went to see Hostel pt. 2 again.

My boyfriend saw it...
He raved about it, he wants to see it again with me.
He said I'd probably love it because it's sick and twisted, and it's a great psycological thriller.
Heh, can't argue with that.
