well, honda are cheap compared to the american cars out there. and my family has two cars, a honda and a mercury, and we've already had soo many problems with the mercury. the honda is still fine, even though it's 3 years older.

Actually, Hondas in Japan are quite cheap, except America puts a super high import tax because the American cars are more expensive and the quality still isnt as good.



Conclusion: Buy Japanese cars and make Ford go out of business.

Civics and other imports from japan are subdued to a about 20% importing tax so if you subtracted that from actual costs it would be a hell of a lot cheaper than American Cars. But seeing how honda has opened up some plants here expect the price to go down :p

imports are alot better than domestics. notice everything thats made in japan last alot longer then the stuff made here. yes domestics are a hell of a lot cheaper to fix up but theyll kill yah in the end with all the gas guzzling. while on the other hand hondas are a bit more expensive to make some power but are reliable. even with more power they are still alot better on gas.

lets say were going for 1/4 mile times. you still save a hell of a lot of money. you buy a 2000 mustang SVT cobra R brand new or used is a pretty penny roughly around 40 to 58K. . the cobra R runs a 12.9 you can get a cheap ass civic for 4K add about 5 to 8K in suspension and go fast goodies and youll prolly beat (depends if you know how to drive) the R and still have gas to drive all the way home. your even beating him with half the cylinders. and you still have a buttload money to spare

A good driver can compensate for the front wheel drive, and with upgraded suspension can clear corners like nothing. I think z's are damn good, and if you actually did drop a Type-R motor in a civic that would be one bad ass mother f***ing car. The type-r can run a quarter mile in 14 seconds, a 300zx in 13.7, that's just bone stock. I meant with a little elbow greese was with a little hardwork and effort the civic can be a formidable opponent. Na, i dont glorify guys too cheap to fix up their car and just slap on exhaust, i glorify guys that can take a 20 second car and make it do 10-14s. Import tuning i believe started off with hondas and went from there because they have the largest and best aftermarkest support to this date.
