Actually I don't know why you hate honda lovers... Civics are Accords are actually cheap. You complain how they are all crappy and stuff but its not the outside. Some civics have V-Tec and most of all their about 2.0 - 2.4 liters. Which means lesser gas than your EXPENSIVE CARS such as your dam BMW's BENZ that you want just because of brand name that are about 3.0-3.8 liters and will cost you atleast like 30 everyday and just swallows the gas without even tasting it.

Mar 11 2005, 10:09 PM
oh wow....2-2.4 liters...woopie. the French and other countries think we should all just be going around in little sport compacts and shit. F the French and F anyone who thinks that.
My 4.0L V8 gets about 13mpg in the city since thats the only driving i really do. i make plenty enough money to cover gas so i dont give a crap. and i run premium (as required for my car) too. i race my car, i go WOT a lot and i drive hard. but i also make sure my car can keep up with my demands.
just did a tranny pan drop & refill last week. been running lots better, no more slipping. also filled mobil 1 full synthetic last week too.

lol a honda with a type-r motor can spank you with it's quarter mile time of 14 seconds, chew on that i4 ;p
lmao! My bros friend used to have a type- R until he crashed it and droped the engine into into a civic he bought. I have to addmit, its fast for what it is. BUUUUT! my bro was test driving it on the freeway, he gave it WOT ( wide open trottle ) and it went but got killed by this little gurl driving her S8.
Plus I see ppl spending 20,000 - 25,000 on a new RSX when the could just get a supra, OR you dont even have to do that, you just get an S13 or S14 and drop a sr20det in there or an RB-25. and WAAA LAA. Plus you would spend 10,000 max.
but hondas are good city cars I have to say. They will get you to point A to B but when it comes to performance, they just dont cut it for me =[

Hmm... I would only get a honda civic as a last resort.. Yay for Mazda Miata! :D lol
I think the RSX looks nice. I admit, I favor cars depending on how curvy they are and how modern and nice they look. Personally I don't care too much about all that fancy stuff.
Psh, gas prices are skyrocketing in California and by summer, I heard it's going to reach 3 bucks per gallon.

once you've driven an 84 toyota tercel that sputters when going up a 10 degree incline and can only top 30 MPH if going downhill, the honda civic has ample power. :-)

cars don't need much horsepower to cruise. if it's a small car, then 20 or so horsepower is all that's actually being used.
it's like using high octane gas; you only need it when accelerating.
your lawn tractor could probably be used to keep a light car at 70 MPH steady... it'd take more to get it that fast, but at that speed you don't really need those HPs anymore...

my motor takes premium fuel because of the high compression. when you run regular it rertards the timing and throws shit whack. in the later models like 99, it said for maximum performance use 91 octane,.
sadolakced acid
Mar 17 2005, 08:31 PM
high octane is better for sudden acceleration, but for normal circumstances it preforms about the same as low octane gas.

My family has always owned Hondas and Acuras, but we bought a Seville STS in 2000. That car was crap! Domestic manufacturers still don't get it. Hell, my dad's 2004 TL could probably smoke all your cars despite being FWD. Thanks to a limited slip differention, turbocharger, cold air intake, and custom exhaust, his TL makes about 470HP. My mom's RL makes 300HP STOCK. That's only 3-less horsepower than GM's touted "Small Block" V8 found in GM's new FWD cars with 4-speed autos.
And hey auroradude,
My TSX 6-speed would accelerate on par with your Aurora, even when mine was stock.

Oh and dont forget, RCTennis newbie that Horsepower isnt everything.......a lot more to do with Torque. The RL only has 260 torque. 300HP doesnt do justice in this case..
WOW i didnt think anyone would be that freaking stupid to pay 43,000 for that car either. What a f'ing waste. For 43,000 i would get a 2003 Ford Mustang Cobra Convertible with 400HP and 420 lb-ft TQ stock. Just adding a Borla cat-back exhaust would bring that MF'er up to 410HP.

you can get a ferrari and a honda, and the ferrari's going to break down before the honda.
doens't mean the honda's better, but it does mean if you plan on driving 15.3 miles to work everyday as the only think you really use your car for, a honda's better for you.

it is quite nice. i'd like to have a compass in my car, because i know the location of things in my town by compass points
the climate control is nice, becuase you can set your temp. like with a house thermostat, instead of just 1, 2, 3, 4.

you know what i can do w/ 21k to a civic
drop in a rebuilt 210hp type-r motor for 3k
drop in a turbo kit system for 3k bring it up 250 hp
port polish for 800, 260
upgrade suspension to skunk2 coilovers for 300

Civics may not haev leather seats, but integra GSR's and accords do. You keep saying civics are death traps, where are you getting this from. Are yuo just making this stuff up to prove a point or something; just because your car weighs a million tons and civics weigh little.
