Okay, I need a new haircut. I'm tired of this typical Asian dude haircut when you have the side of the hair shaved and have longer hair at the top to spike it up. It's not bad or ugly. I want something different.

Anyways, what is the best haircut for me? I'm looking for a medium or short haircut.


About me
- male (that was obvious)
-Oval / oblong shape face.
-Asian
-chinky eyes
-coarse & thick hair
-chubby cheeks but i'm not fat. i'm skinny
-feminineish face; no strong cheekbone, forehead, or whatever. I'm just a typical Asian with a smear-looking face.
-I don't have the "M" on my forehead like most Caucasian do.

I'm NOT looking for long hairstyle ... like these Asian fobs that covers their eyes.

It's already grow up. I'm having a hard time selecting a hairstyle. Like, i dont know what to choose. i just dont want to stick to the typical haircut.

Then like hazardous said, get a fauxhawk and dye the tips blue or something.

I might sound rude to ask you this, but I'm not being one. Are you actually helping me with appropriate suggestions or you're just busting some non analytical suggestions especially when you included "or something" at the end of your comment. it sounds pretty decieving.

Me too. I think faux Hawks are over-done.

I don't know what you look like, but depending on how manageable your hair is, why not go for just a short cut? Or do you want something you can style around?

When you go to get your hair cut, you can always work with the stylist and get ideas and change around your idea to better fit how you look.

Honestly, I think fauxhawks look good on Asian dudes. Considering the fact that you have straight, Asian hair, there's not much else you can do to it. Maybe you should try looking at some J-rock stars o_0

Go to a stylist. If you want something that has low maintenance then go short and simple but if you want abit of flair and style then grow it out abit. If you want, I can get some photo's on really nice guy hair styles.

Also have a look in guy magazines. Although be warned that alot of the stuff in their is not really great. Good enough but nothing special really. Also I have asian straight hair, jet shiney black as well. And i've found that spiky sort of hairstyles goes best on Asian guys especially the way our hair is.

Sure. Picture would be nice. Don’t find hairstyle that is just base on my ethic. Every Asian have different physical feature. Some can pull it off and some cant. Find one base on the description given in the first post. Thanks a lot! Help with your best ability!

I tried that fob hair. Where it hangs down over my forehead. It bothers me so much. I like it, but i can't do it.

You cant? Ask a stylist to help you with the shampoo or some sort of hair stuff to make your hair thicker. My hair never lies down perfectly when i tried puttin down. i'm glad it's not thin because i look worse if it lies down perfectly.

Hm. Faux hawks look cool on most guys, my boyfriend has one, but they're pretty common.

I liked the way the asian kid in Disturbia had his hair done. I'm not sure what to call it, but I'll find some pictures.

Since your hair's grown out, you can part it to the side and rub mousse throught the front so that it's like out of your face. I guess it's somewhat like a fauxhawk but with a laid-back feel to it.

How about this? You can start of with less accuracy then build it up. I'll up load some more hair style pics sooner.

Oh, and I also like that longish hairstyle rocked by a lot of young Asian actors... though this may be crossing the border of that "long fobby haircut" you were talking about. I think it'd frame a face nicely. These aren't poke-into-your-eye-long yet. (Actually, maybe the third one is. Nvm)

Can you post a better picture with color of your hair. the 1st one didnt give me a clearly view at your hair. it's all black, no shadow, or illusion. the 2nd one is too far. i can barely see your complete hair view.

alright heres my input. i'm an asian guy and i've had trouble with getting i guess "the right haircut" you probably know that most asian guys have a different head shape than say caucasians. asians have more of a round head and more of a flatter forehead. also alot of asian guys have a big head. do you have a big head? because for guys with big heads, the simple haircut is perfect for them.
