I don`t consider that fat. :) But nowadays, so many people are too body conscious; 80lbs. is NOT healthy.
HelloSunshine
May 18 2007, 06:06 PM
No, I don't consider that fat.
I heard/read somewhere that for every five feet, you should be a hundred pounds.
So, you shouldn't worry.
It's just certain people's misconception of what is "fat" because of what the media puts out there.
And not all people who are "toothpicks" chose to be that way. They have fast metabolisms, and many of them would actually want to gain a few pounds.
Nobody should have to starve themselves to make themselves happy with themselves, but unfortunately, it happens.

So should a 6 foot person weigh 120 lbs? And a 6'4'' person weigh 126.66 lbs? If so I'm incredibly obese weighing in at a whopping 180 lbs.
deplorable
May 18 2007, 06:13 PM
i hope to god that that doesnt count as fat or im OBESE! ahh.
seriously though, i have curves and i like it
somehowthe little black dress looks sexier in the 130 pounder with curves than the straight, flat 100 pounder.
and yeah, as mentioned above, some peoples motabolism acts faster and everyone is different, so i dont think its fair to call the 100 pound girl a tooth pick, just like it isnt fair to call the girl weighing 130 pounds a fatty.
steve330
May 18 2007, 06:16 PM
It is fair to call them a fatty if they are as wide as they are tall. But yeah, metabolisms / genetics play big rolls, through genetics can easily be overcome if you work @ it. And yeah, Muscle > Fat so muscular people can be smaller than fat people and still weigh more.

Honestly, I'd rather just look at myself and see if I have any obvious bulges of fat protruding from my body. If so then that would kinda let me know how I'm doing healthwise :) Also big energy levels tend to one believe they're doing good.

Don't pay attention to the number, pay attention to your health.
Someone can be healthy at 140lbs. Someone else can be healthy at 90lbs. Just pay attention to your body and don't let your weight rule you. Your weight fluxuates daily, anyways.

May 18 2007, 09:00 PM
I don't.
Those 110 pounds aren't pure fat; they're made up also of MUSCLE. Some people tend to have a more muscular body, so they can tend to weigh more sometimes.

May 18 2007, 11:26 PM
yup yup yup
past few posts have nailed it :)
Like I used to be a lil chubbier than I am now, but since I've started working out I've gained a few lbs but gotten thinner. Had to get used to not measuring productivity in working out by what the scale said -.-
One time I had neglected eating all day because I was trying to eat less and really hadn't much paid attention to my stomach. I mean I'm not anorexic or anything, but I just didn't really eat that day. I was @ this place while my girlfriend was getting her anti-brows pierced and I randomly fainted due to lack of food t.t

It depends on your height and health in general, not just the number that shows up on the scale. 110 lbs. is fine at that height...80 lbs. seems a little on the skinny side to say the least.

No, thats not fat. Weighting 80 is unhealthy especially if your in eighth grade or high school or even out of school. I weigh 105 (I dont look like it though I look like I should be 100)and im 14 but I have a fast matabulism.

So for every foot, that's 20 lbs. Does that mean that girls who are 5'6"-5'10" who weigh 125-140 are overweight?
Having a weight like 80 lbs isn't healthy. I weigh about 105, and would still like to gain. 110 lbs is definitely NOT fat. People nowadays are too self-conscious.

110 lbs is normal for a girl who's 5'2. Don't compare yourself to Nicole Richie.
But I don't think 110 lbs. is normal for a guy who is 5'2. I think guys who are 5'4 should be around 110 lbs.

wow if 5'2 110pounds is fat then i am obese

Your weight doesn't really determine how you look, even when combined witht he height. Weight is distributed differently. Besides, muslce weights more than fat. That is why bmi isn't really all that accurate.

^So true. Metabolism = very high in some people. I did some test type thing last summer and it ended up saying that I could eat 3000 calories a day, do absolutely nothing, and lose weight.
I, however, eat way more than 3000 calories a day rofl, but I don't gain.
