Yes. I was 14 not too long ago and I could not imagine having sex that young. I do have a friend whos mother's best friend's daughter is 14 and having sex. Shes had 4 different sex partners who are all 16 - 17. IMO, way too young. To me, not matter how mature you think you are at 14, theres no way you can deal with getting pregnant. I'm not saying thats what would happen every time, but its a lot riskier because most 14 year olds dont even know how to use a condom.

i am 14 and i know how to use one, do think its okay, i mean i know theres everything there is to know about it and no i havent done it, but i've got plans this summer.

i voted no...ya some ppl at that age are immature so i can see y some voted opposite me but imho its their choice...i was 15 when i first started having sex with a bf of 6 months and we were safe about it...since then ive always been careful and used protection, ive bought bc pills continually for a while now and ive never had to worry about being pregnant ...as i see it, 14 year olds can do what they want but do it responsibly and with someone they can trust

im 20 and when im in a serious relationship i do tend to have sex and use proper protection...i dont beleive you HAVE to be ready to have a baby in order for it to be OK for you to have sex...like i said, im 20, i still dont want a kid and honestly i probably wont want one for the entirety of my life, but this doesnt mean i should never have sex imo and the same goes for younger kids i think...they dont have to be wanting a baby in order to have sex, they just have to be responsible

i wasn't even thinking of sex at 14... and i sure don't believe kids (yes KIDS) at that age should be having sex, no matter how "mature" they think they are. i had a bf but we preoccuppied ourselves with other things... like enjoying childhood & school work!!!! i think kids having sex at such a young age is the reason why there are so many kids dropping out of high school and so many teenage pregnancies.

It's only okay if the kid knows what he/she is doing, uses protection, and is mature enough to accept the consequences. Although that is pretty rare.

what if it was a 14 year old boy having sex? would that be any different than a 14 year old girl? except for the fact he might be too young to even ejaculate, or that he won't be getting pregnant anytime soon?

Way too young. You're still a baby! You can't even get a learner's permit in most states at that age! Where would you even have sex? Where are your parents???

At fourteen what would you even do if the worst case scenario happened? Can you get a job? With insurance? You can't go to the doctor without your parents knowing, I know that much.

I don't believe its wrong if the girl is mature to handle such a situation, by using protection from getting pregnant or gaining STIs that would ruin her future. It depends on the maturity of the girl.

Pretty much everyone I know had sex at 14. I never thought when I got to high school everyone wouldlose their virginity right away. I don't think it's wrong but when you're promiscuous at 14 that's just wrong.

these types of questions can often be based on religious views. i think anytime anyone has sex b4 marriage, its wrong. especially at 14. 1 major consequence from having sex is becoming pregnant. so then you think: can a 14 year old take care of a baby at that age?

You're kidding right? You are saying that nearly everyone under the age of 22 (since a majority of parents pay for college), cannot handle sex. They can marry, smoke, drink (depends on the country i guess),go to war, etc. Did birth control never enter you're vocabulary? The mature and responsible way of having sex is to protect oneself, yes? That includes a precautionary measures to avoid pregnancy, std's etc. Though it is an obvious possibility that having sex may result in pregnancy, there is an easy way to avoid that, since birth control (other than just using a condom) is so highly effective. Beside the fact that we are not talking "sexual relationship" we are talking about sex, since you can have a sexual relationship without technically having sex.

Actually, you can in my state.
I got my permit like two weeks(?) before I lost my virginity, and I was 18, so that made me laugh. I didn't feel any bit more mature than most of the kids in my drivers ed class either.

For the second part-
I'm pretty sure I couldn't do that now but I'm not sure it would have been any harder than it has been for me to find a job currently, at 14. At least the economy was better then.

My opinion, I think it takes a very responsible 14yr old for sex to be even considered ok, but that doesn't mean that they do not exist. Hell, 14yr olds can get jobs, that's a mature responsibility.
As for the "omg your virginity can never be taken back" type arguments, it's sex, big woop. I don't quite understand the big deal with ones virginity. Some people regret who they lost it to, at any age, and some don't.
