I understand what the girl was trying to say, but she probably could've been a little less derogatory. Such as, instead of calling it 'black people hair', she could've said 'course hair'. Because, that's the real term.

Anyways, you can go to a salon, and they use a bunch of chemicals in your hair, to straighten it. You can also get it conditioned, so it's smooth.

I don't have course hair, but one of my friends does, and her hair comes our really soft. =]

haha true..

I dont think its possible unless you get a weave otherwise no. For caucasian girls you could get your hair chemically straitened. I really want that done.

Be more dramatic? I'm sorry, I did in fact mean 'coarse', and by definition, HIS type of hair is. Even if it's not the most popular term.=]

Anyways, he's using derogatory words, when he's calling the types of hair 'black people hair', and 'white people hair'. Obviously.

I, as a Black person, prefer the term "Black" over "African-American." But that's just personal preference.

I think I could count the number of black celebrities with real hair on one hand.
India.Arie, Jill Scott... who the heck else?

To the topic starter: why do you want to make your hair specifically like white peoples'?
StanleyThePanda
Only thing you could really do is get a relaxer. That's about the closest you can get, and you'll have to keep relaxing your hair every time your roots grow out. Lots of money.
xannurrs
get it relaxed(:
sometimes weaves come out looking
like pubic hair
especially for guys that i know.

:x

It's derrogatory, because they're saying WHITE people hair, and BLACK people hair. I'm sorry, I would have spelled it out more simply earlier, but I figured you'd catch on.

Anyways, I never said that all Africans had coarse hair, I said that the type of hair he was referring to, is indeed coarse. If you don't know what the term means, look it up. There are tons of different things to call it, and coarse works.

If you use the right kind of hair for weaves, it should be fine. Of course, if you use fake, plastic, pube-ish hair, it's going to look and feel like that.
melodicminor
i don't think it's possible with your own hair. i have a relaxer and my hair is STILL poofy. i just want my hair to be as flat as can be. i do not think "black hair" can be turned into "white hair" without weave.

So if I say Angelina Jolie is a white person..and that Beyonce is a black person I'm being derogatory? huh.gif I'm just identifying them.

No, because he wasn't calling someone white or black. He was talking about hair types. And yeah, calling someone a 'white' person, is using a derogatory term. The correct term is 'caucasian'. I say white, but even if I say whtie, I'm being derogatory.

Lol at the second part of your post. There is no need for that.

Topic starter asked about "black people hair".
Black people are originally from Africa.
You can't generalize African hair as coarse or even kinky/natural..because it's all different types.

I never said that all black people have the same hair type. I said, that the specific type of hair he was talking about is coarse. And, again, it is.

And yeah, let's get back to the topic. Which we've strayed so far from. Rotfl.
