do people usually expect you to have your hair done for senior prom?

i dont think i will do anything to mine

but if i do plan to do something, what would be a nice hair style?
besides what every girl will do...which is curls.

EDIT: my hair is naturally poofy. i straighten it everyday just to get it straight..

I'd say you'd want to do your hair nice for senior prom, yes. At my school, everybody at least blow dries it out nicely; and then of course, there's a handful of people with curly hairstyles or up-dos. Well, what's your hair like? Is it naturally straight, curly, short, long?

For starters, regardless of your hair texture, you could always do the "poof"; section off hair at the top front part of your head, and pin that back; backcomb for volume. I recommend this hairstyle, it's the easiest of them all. You can curl one to two inch sections for soft waves, as well. Like this:

You could also go with an updo. Blow dry hair out straight and sleek, then gather hair up into a bun-type style; hold with bobby pins. If you want, you can let out some of the front section to make 'side bangs'; they flatter almost everybody.

A pony-tail is also nice; you don't have to wear your hair entirely down, it'll be out of the day when you're dancing but still look nice. You might want to curl one-inch sections of your hair, then shake it out and spray with curl-holding hairspray to jazz it up a bit.

here's a couple options with pictures. The pictures aren't ideal, but it seems that the trends this year are:
- messy updos
- ponytails
- just to let it loose
- updos
