Thanks everyone who got their in on time, but while the judges are writing up our comments and preparing for the next round, we decided to let anyone who wants to sneak in a last-minute entry (or redo a recording they aren't happy with) have another couple of days. Once we're ready for the next round, we'll cut off submissions. We'd like to see a couple more entries, hopefully.

i think 2 of my friends are planning on joining, so please hold the deadline for a bit thanks.

We'll probably hold off until we've got all our comments up and the stuff ready for the new round, so if you want to throw something in last minute, now's the time.

Critique is for those who can handle it.

I suppose you should ask for critique if you want it. If not, then expect not to receive any except from the judges.

I don't think it should be any different from CBNTM, as long as the posts aren't considered member bashing.

How do people feel about us displaying our comments in thread, similar to the format for CBNTM? Contestants especially.

Personally, I think that if you're even going to bother being in a competition; especially one that involves you singing, you shouldn't even be here if you can't take critique.

Felt in a christmasy mood

Alright, here's my critique.

Jane- Ah don't push the pop voice. It sounds like you're singing through your nose and with small mouth. Drop your chin and jaw down for vowels. Keep your mouth open and don't push the sounds. It will come naturally with practice.

br34ker4lyfe - You have a beautiful rich tone to your voice! Be careful not to sing through your nose, especially on words like who. Think of blowing out a candle, that's what your mouth should look like on words like who and you. With some proper vocal training you could really get somewhere! Keep it up!

Anastasia- Ah don't make excuses ever! If you say something like that at an audition they'll ask you to leave right there. Watch words like you, truth and who. It sounds like you're saying ew. Drop your jaw to make it an ooo. Nice range though! At the end I can't understand a word you're saying. For future reference, when singing a capella never wait for where the music would be.

Danielle- I love your voice! Just watch the one part when your go low at the beginning, you're sinking into you're chest voice. Watch the last you, it came out like yew. Other than that great job!

Kim- You obviously have some sort of vocal training, you're vowels are perfect! Beautiful tone! The only thing I noticed is you're voice got a bit brassy at the end crescendo. Other than that nice!

I get that alot. Thanks for the tip, I'll keep that in mind if I make next round.

You have a great voice but the choice of the song was kinda eh.
Try selecting a slow song. You vocals would shine more =P

It was very good just certain parts you were off tune.

Jane:
Very good also but you missed some of the high notes.
And it sounded like you sang through your nose most of the song.
Tone was good though.
Part 2 Sounded much better than part 1.

The judges will have critiques posted for each contestant, so everyone will get at least three opinions. =]

When you sing, extend some of the words.
It seemed like to sped up the tempo of the actual song.
(EDIT:Yeah, you sped the tempo of the song in the begining, I compared it to the actual song )
Also you sang at the same note most of the time.
Kind sang some notes high when they shouldnt and some low when they shouldn't.
You have the potential, just need to work on it^^
