AHHH the same thing happens to me.
I try to go for healthy food that fills me up in small quantities. Like a little bit of a certain bread (dunno what kind) fills me up.
Also, drinking water instead of eating. But that's kind of hard to do when all you want is fried chicken.

I used to do that too. I've somewhat stopped. I still allow myself a snack later in the night because we eat dinner around 4pm and I can't go until morning to eat again. I think I'd just suggest doing something else to take your mind off food, esspecially if you're not hungry. Go play a game, watch TV, take a walk.
Maybe this should be in Health?

I do that when I get really bored sometimes. I guess just find other things to do... That's why I don't do so good over the summer cause I'll get bored and eat but I'm still skinny. HOORAY FOR FAST METABOLISM!!!

oh, that's what happened to me a few years ago. i used to eat out of boredom (but i stopped)
well, tell your parents to buy food that's only used as ingredients, and that way you can't snack anymore..?
i saw this somewhere in CB a long time ago, but maybe wear a rubber band around your wrist and everytime you reach for food when you're not hungry.. snap the rubber band? :p

i used to do that too...
i've heard your mind tricks you into believing you're hungry when you've just eaten for a period of time because it takes longer for your mind to realize "i'm not hungry anymore". try eating 5 small meals a day instead of 3 big ones. if you eat more regularly, you'll probably eat less anyways. (don't eat 5 of your regular meals, eat 5 smaller ones.)
if you feel you must eat, anyways, you should try drinking water. or snacking on veggies and fruits. :)

You eat because you're bored, I do too. Try finding other things to do when you're bored. When you get the urge to eat, go and brush your teeth. Not only is it good for you, but it gets rid of the craving.

I heard that if you eat apples, you'll feel full. I think it's the fiber or something. So eat apples.

I used to be really bad about that. I would just eat out of boredom. But once I went on a diet last summer, it seems like all my bad habits disappeared, even though I'm no longer dieting.
To help control over eating, maybe try lean cuisines? That'll help control the amount you eat for a given meal. Those helped me so much. Because normally for dinner, I would load way too much on my plate, and then go back for more. But with a lean cuisine, that's all you get. There's no going back for seconds, unless you want to microwave another one - which I was always waay too lazy to do. After a couple of weeks, you'll notice that the tiny little meal you get will COMPLETELY fill you up. It almost got to the point where I couldnt even finish it all sometimes!
If you just eat when you're bored, maybe try to occupy yourself with something to be bored less often? Or, try to replace all the junk food with healthier snacks? You'd still be over eating, but at least they'd be healthier foods.

When you do that you could eat somthing healthy instead of what you were about to eat. Like say your not hungry but your craving BBQ chips or somthing.. Just sub it with a bannana or ect.

find something else to do.
something entertaining.
if your habit is always having to
eat while watching tv, brush your
teeth, chew gum or something.
