For me it depends. Some sequels are just really bad. pinch.gif
But some like...Harry Potter are good.

It depends. Sometimes they're as good or better than the first book, so then it's cool. I usually end up liking them even if they're not as good as the first, though.

I think it really really depends on whether the author sucks or not. XD.gif They're neither generally good nor bad.

Most sequels I read aren't as good as the first one..but not all (like Harry Potter happy.gif)
kinda like TV shows..the first seasons are always the best XD.gif

Most of the time, I cherish them because I hate it when a book ends; so if a sequel comes out, I'm very excited that the story can continue! :D

I am going to cry when Harry Potter finishes. The end is near. T_T
freeflow
I do , especially since I rather read a series over just one book. I love when stories go on and on and on. (you get the point)

yea, id agree. some are just..bad.

like those traveling pants books or those princess diaries ones. they should have stopped after the first. but the 2-3 other sequels for the face on the milk carton are fantastic!

Really? I adored the travelling pants books. The first will forever be my favorite, but it was nice knowing that there'd be even more stories about them.

I think there's really a limit to how many sequels there should be. There are exceptions *ahem*HARRY POTTER*ahem* but as a general rule, two or three more should suffice.

It really depends.
I liked the Travelling Pants... I was worried the sequels would be disappointing after discovering how amazing the first book was, but was definitely not disappointed. _smile.gif I also enjoyed series like the Harry Potter series (WHO DOESN'T LOVE 'EM?!) and A Series of Unfortunate Events.

Usually, Only if I enjoyed the first one. _smile.gif
My Cinderella.
Books, I can make an exception for. I wanna know the ending.

I've never really read a particulary bad book sequel. They've all been pretty good, really, in comparison to the original.

Sometimes the story *can* drag on, where in the previous book it was seemed to have been all but finished. I don't like that lack of flow, and usually I'll get annoyed. (But read it anyway.)

Films and movies are different, but that's not for this forum!

i guess it just depends
some books i really want a sequel to come out
and others i dont
i dont want the sequels to turn out bad
but some sequels can be better than the original. some.
Alvin
I really don't like book sequels because they're usually not as good as the first one and something weird or unusual happens in them like the protagonist gets killed by the antagonist.
PINAYSTER
i love sequels!!
but usually it's not as good as the first one..
but the books that i really like
like ERAGON is an exception haha!!
or HARRY POTTER
marzipan
I usually really like sequels because I wonder what's going to happen next and how the author is going to develop the storyline more.

Unless the author is really bad...>_>
xBUTTMUNCHx
when the book is really good.
sometimes i like a book so much, i have to read it over and over, but with the sequel, i don't have to do that.
morgy605
I love them, except in the case of the 2nd Harry Potter book. But I guess I have been lucky to choose series who have sequels to them that I end up pulling my hair out waiting for them ^.^
