movie updates from Stephenie's site!
QUOTE
I am very excited to announce that Twilight has been optioned by Summit Entertainment (http://www.summit-ent.com/). The deal with MTV Film (and friends) lapsed in April, and since that time my agents and I have been negotiating with Summit on a great contract that I think will really protect the story. The people at Summit seem quite enthusiastic about doing Twilight the right way, and I'm looking forward to working with them. The story will be optioned for the next fifteen months, when Summit will have the opportunity to buy the property. I will keep you updated on any developments as soon as I find out about them.
Meanwhile, years have passed, my actors have aged, and I think the time has come to recast the Twilight Movie. (For fun, of course! I still have no say in who gets hired.)
The most disappointing thing for me is losing my perfect Edward. Henry Cavill is now twenty-four-years-old. Let us have a moment of quiet in which to mourn…
henry cavill
Okay, moving on. I'm not willing to relinquish Henry completely; since I hear that Charlie Hunnam refuses to consider scripts which include vampires, I propose that Henry play Carlisle! (Would Henry dare to find out if blondes DO have more fun??
Then who will play Edward? I don't have the perfect answer. I've seen some nice suggestions, but keep in mind a few reality checks: I'm not considering anyone over 21 (sorry Gaspard Ulliel fans!), or anyone who isn't a real actor (which is terribly sad, considering the beauty of models like Kevin Flamme, Jeremy Dufour, and Thomas Beaudoin; this counts out all the lead singers, too, Gerard Way lovers.).

because then the film company really does want to keep the story. not like mtv, that was just horrid.

because in the end she turns out ok! though...she is unhappy that edward wont let her become a vampire
uhhh. maybe we should start a thread just for people whove read the book? haha
but the fact that it DOES happen in the book really makes me depressed.
i don't know...i always get emotional when reading books. they mean something to me. and even though i know it has sort-of-a-happy-ending, the fact that i did have to experience the sad parts is still depressing.
QUOTE(murderwaltz @ Jul 4 2007, 06:47 PM)

is it depressing because it makes you feel lonely? because thats what it kind of still does to me when i re-read it again. i mean, it's a book about that "one true love" and if you're single, it just makes you feel even more lonesome. haha but the books addicting which makes it soo good. ehh?
or maybe im just a bit crazy. lol yes!
lonely, and depressed.
and for me, it's not the fact that i'm single, or my "love" experiences. it just really affects me that such strong love between two people exists like it does in these books.

i know, i sound corny, but i tend to take even fantasy books seriously. >_>

Favorite character BESIDES Edward: I think I agree with everyone when I say Alice, but I also highly regard Esme...anyone agree with me?
Why you like Edward: Because hes beautiful inside and out, and he is deep and caring and musical and all that. The author herself loves him, so why shouldn't we??
P.S. You must have read my mind while I was reading the books when you posted the pictures of Gaspard. HE IS EDWARD!!!
