What would you do if your girlfriend's/wife's father told you the only way you could be with her would be if you got a vasectomy

I have no intentions of this being innapropriate or sexual, just a honest question

I'm not a guy so I don't know why I'm posting here. I'd probably lie and tell him I got it done just to shut him up; it's none of his business.

Im strong against people who do that.Really it irks me.

I don't think it's ever necessary for anyone to do it.
My Mom had it done, and I think it's ridiculous.
Just as I wouldn't ever have my husband do it, I expect the same from him.
