RAH. okay so im a japanese girl who basically wears the same thing every single day. a zip up jacket or a sweatshirt, a t shirt, jeans, and worn out sneakers. i recently posted about weird flip out bob hairdos, because i just cut it neck short last week. so yeah. i want to change. i always see cute clothes, and everything. but my clothes dont seem any different. i guess its easy to say i dont know how and what flatters my figure but thats probably because theres nothing to flatter :P but anyways, i WANT TO CHANGE! and yeah ^ ^;;

You want to change your appearance? Or your clothes? Or both?

If you mean clothes/appearance wise, the next time you go to a store you shop at why not try on some things you usually don't wear everyday or purchase? That way you can see what other things you may like or that may look good on you.

get a friend/mom (if you trust her) to take you on a shopping spree. have them give you advice on what to wear.

Agreed. When you go into a store, get a sales person to help you find different styles; it's what they are paid to do.
Jinny
go shopping at a different store, or go shopping at a store you usually go to but buy some different styles
mishyerr
Stop wearing jeans and tees and switch styles. Dress up cute and pretty one day (dress + nice shoes) and then do some other styles. Boyish. Punk. Urban.

i was just about to say something
similar. ;/ there`s no way you can
change if you don`t even TRY
different things.

ldyxluvable
who cares what people think just be you :] but if your that scared maybe you should wait till like school break then you can change so it would`nt seem arkward i guess

No one can say anything in dressing rooms.
If you think something looks really cute on you, just go for it.
Asking a sales rep. for help is a great idea.
You don't have to spend a great deal of money, either.

ahh that use to be me pinch.gif
in 7h grade, I was ALWAYS self conscious about how I looked
Then after spring break I changed everything about myself (well not everything) and people started acting different toward me (in a good way) I got a new haircut, new clothes, but I still was the same person inside. _smile.gif

good luck! happy.gif

A change can be a good thing, although it's a little awkward at first.

Go shopping with some friends that have a style that you might like to try, not completely steal, but you know... take some pointers from. Try on a bunch of things that you've never tried before, and see what works for you.

Maybe buy a new shirt that's something you wouldn't normally wear, and then keep going from there. Go with an impulse. I understand that you said you don't have much money, but maybe look online first, and find a trend that's cute. Buy one thing of that, and if it works, slowly integrate it into your current style.

I get what you mean. It's not a matter of not wanting to change, but it's afraid of changing, right? Like, hard to make that transition so quickly? I get it. The idea is to start small. Like Yanlin said, try on a shirt that you wouldn't normally try. Skip the tees. Try the girly blouses. Try the empire waist shirts that will give your body a new shape. Shirts are relatively easy since they're cheaper than bottoms and you can change them easily.
