i heard business men usually dont hire ppl with gauges in there ears is that true?
Cristy
Mar 24 2007, 06:59 PM
It's most likely true. They don't want their employees to scare off possible clients with their piercings.

Most likely... Employers are going to judge you based on your looks no matter what. Whether they have an impression that you're a good worker, or if customers would like you very much

^ Yeah those are kinda creepy.
There are certian people who look schemxy with them though.
Anyways, there's lot of people who will judge you by how you dress and such. They want you to look professional, and sadly eccentric things don't fit under the "professional" category.

they scare me. xD They probably won't hired you like everyone else above has said unless it fits into the "scene" of the workplace you have applied to. Something like Hot Topic or a punk/rock kinda place. Nothing professionally business.

I have a size 4 in my ear. It's super cute, and I'm in love with it.
:)
It depends on where you want to work. I'm sure that most business places that make you communicate with customers will not hire people with gages, but Hot Topic, Game Stop, and some other random stores probably don't care.
Gages are cute. You probably just haven't seen someone pull it off, yet.

Mar 25 2007, 03:06 PM
Well, if it's a tiny one, I don't think it matters that much compared to those huge ones that you can stick your finger in...
Professionals would look more...conservative and receive a better impression. Even the boss might pull that off, but if it's like a place you work with customers and for service purposes, it really depends on if the majority of the customers could pull that off.

I thinkg gauges are cute, on girls, if they're small.
My boyfriend wants to get them, &I think they're hot on guys.
They smell really, really bad though.

Indeed, Very shmexy!
I guess it depends... They usually don't though.
But I'm sure they make exceptions sometimes, like depending on the size of the gauges, or how professional the guy is, how talented he is at whatever he is doing, etc.

Bleehh I don't like those things... It's weird seeing through a part of someone's body.

so you don't like earrings in the ear lobes? they go through the skin. the only difference in the gauged is it's bigger and hollowed out. they both take chunks of your skin out.

You won't get hired in the business world with a gauge for the same reason that you are usually prohibited from displaying tattoos in the office; it's unprofessional.

A lot of professional business-related companies won't hire people with ear gauges. My friend who's going to be a lawyer can't get her second holes pierced in her ear because it won't be professional enough.
Intercourse.
May 11 2007, 11:58 PM
EE, I think their slightly gross.
I can see why they wouldn't hire someone with them. Its not very professional looking is probably the main reason. -shrugs- and of course I've never seen any employee have them except once at a hot topic about 3 hours away.

Its probably true because its kind of like not "clean" looking seeing that you have a huge hole through your ear.. hot topic hires people with them though.

i personally like them. i've seen employees with them, but not at real big companies or anything. mainly just tattoo parlors, clothing shops, ect.
i like them about this size.
edit:ewww. i must admit...these are gross.

HaHaH you could see through his nose! OMG YOU COULD SEE THROUGH HIS NOSE! What if he had a booger? Omg he could easily pick it! Wow those are pretty hard core though, and must have hurt.

It was supposed to be a certain shade of blue so we mixed blue and green together, but it ended up more green than blue. So the next time around I just did it pure green.
