so i just created a lovely new layout and got the coding so it shows up right in IE, but in FF the numbers are still off. I don't get it! the coding i used was from another layout with similar format as mine (just slightly different) and that layout showed up fine in IE and FF.
my xanga site is www.xanga.com/Kat_thecatlover
I'm not an expert on HTML yet, so I don't know what else to do.
I also have AIM, yahoo, and MSN messenger....
just PM me or reply here please.

Honestly, it's pretty hard many times in getting a layout perfectly aligned in both IE and FF; you'll just have to either mess around with the values some more or alter coding a bit. My only suggestion is to possibly change the DIVs to absolute as opposed to static. That seems to work for me.. somewhat.

Have you tried putting "!important" after all of your pixel values?

i'll try both of those things, thank you
ok that didn't work.
my only other idea is to take the two sections, chop them off, and insert them again as separate from the main bg

There's a wierd quirky thing about xanga layout coding...
If you structure it a certain way, than it's only 2-3 pixels off in both browsers, which is pretty much flawless.
[Web Title]
[StyleSheet]
[Div background Image]
[Navigation Div]
[Blog Div]
If your codes go in that order, than the positions should nearly be the same in both browsers.

!important is for IE, no !important is for FF. Or is it the other way around. Try it out.
