so i have always wondered why there are some phones that work in europe and asia and japan but not in america?
kimmytree
I'm guessing its their cards or whatever they are inside. Probably because they are programmed/made to connect with servers/sattelites/towers over there, and not the ones in the US?

Well i am sure tahts a reason but why?!

Type of network. Europe mostly uses GSM cellular networks; GSM is also used by some companies in the US, but not all. Cell phones in the US also operate in a different frequency band than in Europe.
