Would you actually try to pull off editorial fashions?

For example, today this girl in my class wore this Yohji Yamomoto or Marc Jacobs type knit hat thing (it wasn't as big as those, but it was similar), and it was kind of weird... And she had a loose jersey trapeze shirt, so she had some kind of weird Parisian look going on.

Would you actually try to pull off the Balenciaga lucite heels, or the Chanel sequin hot pants?

I admired her guts and fashion-forwardness, but is it really a good idea to wear things just for the sake of fashion? Like what about practicality?

some of the things are wearable
if you know how, but i mean.. i
wouldn`t wear things like that to
school probably.

For everyday wear, no. But I think once in a while, just for random fun, going all-out 'fashionista' is fun, and it lets others know you still got it goin'. Hahahaha.

I always plan out super fab outfits the night before school, but the next morning I usually just throw on a pair of jeans and a tee 'cause I'm too lazy to wear the shoes or dress uncomfortably. Not saying that all fancy clothes are uncomfy though ^_^

^ Yeah, maybe not everyday, but I still think it's fun.. I mean.. then again, I do so. shrug.gif

*so lost* (got all lost when mentioning all the brands) the only thing i see uber cool about the whole thing is the photography and how the models wear it and model them in the photos... i have no Fashion sense... so me wearing that is not the smartest thing for me... i will sooo mess it up... but when i do want to go all out wearing stuff 'like' or someting of the sortswill not be a everday thing... no no no... once in a while yeah

i look to fashion editorials for inspiration. of course, i doubt anyone would be able to pull off wearing the outfits styled in the magazines without getting some weird stares. I usually only pick one aspect from the editorial that i like: like, wearing high chunky heels with skinny jeans and a loose tee, as opposed to like metallic balenciaga tights and a blazer like they do in the editorials. It's all about playing things down.

Haha, this is exactly what I think when I look at those pictures. I mean they're cool looking in the magazine, but not in reality. Maybe some places, like New York and Paris, you can most definitely pull it off. Personally, I don't think I would every wear the full outfit. Maybe little bits and pieces of it. Haah. (=
CLYDE
Definitely not everyday. Honestly some of those clothes on those magazines and fashion shows are straight tacky as hell.

I definitely wouldn't wear runway styles to school. I think the only place they would really be acceptable/practical is in a big city. I'm all for nonconformity and personal style but there are some limits as to what is appropriate in certain settings.

There are some outfits that do have practicality, and every once in a while, for special events, I dress it up and don the supah-fashion-clothing-things. But even then, I get looks where it's like "Um, that's not cool." but not only do you have to be confident in those clothes, but they make you feel confident 'cause you're standing out.

Erm, I'm not a model so I doubt things that are in magazines would look that good on me. Sometimes I like to dress up and do different things. Most of the time I'm not as fashion forward at school... but yeah outside of school... why not
jaeminnie
No, most likely not. Most clothes in fashion magazines are way too impractical for school wear.
Gypsy Eyes
Some aspects of it, but never directly from a magazine.
medicineforluck
Yeah, never directly from a magazine
maybe the shirt or necklace but never the whole outfit
Plus, somethings in magazines look good on skinny, tall, etc. kind of girls ermm.gif
OhMyAnniee
I wouldn't.
There's a reason why it's like runway couture, you know?
alysaphobia
i'd take a few ideas from magazines but never copy the exact same thing... often it looks too weird in real life

thats one of the problems with fashion and designers, their clothes arent really wearable- for example jean paul gaultier- his designs are amazing but who would wear something of his off the runway- you would look like a crazy person.
