i'm a pretty skinny person, so i don't really have spectacular curves or look great with low cut tops. (and no, i'm not anorexic or anything, btw, i just inherited fast metabolism.) how can i dress best to flatter my figure?
kimmytree
Hmm. I've heard wearing slightly higher waisted pants/jeans can help, or wearing jeans with cargo pockets on the back... giving the illusion of a larger butt.

Eeek sorry if that's not much help. I'm trying to figure out how to do the exact opposite. shrug.gif

-well, dark washes on jeans are slimming so... i'm guessing...light washes...don't? haha.
-push bra, dear.
-slightly low cut tops so it kinda gives a glimpse of your cleavage.
-seventeen magazine usually every month or two has a guide on how to dress your body. they always have a section on how to make your curves more obvious. so go online to their site or skim through a copy.

Wear a belt around your waist to give a bit of an hourglass shape.

Wear structured jackets that give a silhouette.

Try poufy sleeves, or shirts with lots of volume.

i'm sorta like you.
i'm pretty thin everywhere but i have a pretty big butt.

i suggest you wear minidresses with leggings? or skinny jeans.
it's totally cute too.

i guess it depends on what your style is

if you`re small, you can definitely
pull off skinny jeans. it only really
looks nice on smaller/proportioned
girls. bottom heavy girls.. skinny
jeans are more of a no-no.

try skinny jeans with a drop waist
shirt or something. a puffy VEST
not jacket might add a little volume.

i say...
wear a top that have pleating and whatnot at the top.(for your boobs)
try to not wear to much black.
also, wear tops that have ruffles from the chest down. biggrin.gif

*HIGH FIVE!*
yeah i'm kinda bony around my neck... maybe not bony, but just not "full" and healthy-looking. ugh. ;(
my arms are also pretty much sticks. skinny is so overrated.

what about dresses?? what kind of dresses would look best on me? spaghetti straps, strapless, halter, etc.?
moorepocket
don't wear tightly hugged clothes. Wear blouse/button down shirts. They make you look like you got curves. Mainly, it's loose in that area, and it tricks the eyes.

For pants, wear something with pockets (or without, i forgot which). The pockets hide your bottom. No pockets, make it stands out.

In the summer, I'd wear a spaghetti strap dress, but make sure the dress itself is kind of loose.
mishyerr
Well, I think you should look it up in a magazine. You aren't specific enough. Just 'skinny' does not define very much. :/
Mireh
work with what you have, i'm sure a lot of girls would kill for your figure. Being skinny, you're allowed to pull off a lot of things that curvier girls cannot.
cupcakex
Do the exact opposite of what big girls do.
Hah.

Nah, I'm just kidding.

It really depends on what your style is.
If you're hardcore, skinny jeans will do you justice.

If you're not, look for jeans that don't flow too much on the bottom, it will make your body look akward.

It's probably not pants that are your problem.

So, I'd go with layering, and shirts that flow.

im so skinny too!
try structured jackets and jeans with light colors! avoid black!

i usually wear tight top and a shirt on it but i keep it half opened
i also wear low waste jeans with lots of pockets and a wide belt and low heels
curly hair is good too!
