it's usually myspace.
i listen to everyone's music thing and if i like it, ill look it up under myspace music and listen to more from the artist.

movies- probably from trailers at the movie theatre.

tv shows- trailers on tv.
Smoogrish
I use lastfm a lot, and if I like a particular artist, I'll tune in to their station and listen to similar artists, and keep going from there. The only thing is, it sometiems ends up taking me in a circle. Other than that, it's mostly from friends.

For music, usually from myspace, I think it's a great way to find the new bands and listen to them before buying an album or something.

For movies, I usually find them out by trailers in the movie theatre or on TV.

Finally, for tv shows, I find them out from commercials.

i use bearshare &&when i`m downloading a song, it gives you a list of people who are also downloading. so i go to those peoples "profiles" &&check out their shared music, and that`s sometimes how i come across new music.

Godd question, I notice bands when I happen to come across them, anything with a nice melody i'll notice. I hardly watch TV or listen to the radio, I usually listen to shit I've already listen to or know.
viugiufgjhfhjfhgch
Through music forums, youtube and google searches mostly. Although then there's radio, internet radio and podcasts too; you could say the Internet is where I get 90% of my music information.
ArjunaCapulong
Mostly recommendations from other people.

Or if I hear a nice beat somewhere I might ask what the song is.
Soleil
iTunes. No other way for me.

I have recently discovered the PureVolume channel on the AOL Online Radio, and it plays the music I LOVE! So, I listen to that and write down all the songs that I do like. :D
