id probably date for 2 years. then have a looong engagement. like, another 2 years or so.

if we're going to get married, why hurry?
me1issaaaa
It all depends on when you meet/start dating. At my age right now, I'm not even 18 yet. I've been with my boyfriend for nearly a year, and though it's definitely not a certain thing, we've discussed what we would do about marriage. About 3 or 4 years from now we'd move in together, and then sometime within the next year or two after that, we would get engaged. We wouldn't marry until we were both 24 or 25. Not a sure thing, but it's had some thought put into it.

If we're talking like... when I was 21 or 22, or even older, probably around a year of dating before engagement. It just varies depending on the chemistry and the timing and everything.
Intercourse.
It really depends on what age I end up finding the "one" I end up marrying. I put 3 years in the poll, because it sounded like a good number. Until I actually counted laugh.gif I think if I were in a relationship for 3 years and was pretty confident in it, I suppose I wouldn't mind getting engaged. I want a long engagement as well. I want to live with each other a few months or for a while before getting married and get use to living with each other and it seems when you live with someone you really get to see them for their true colors so It would be a new experience and it would really test whether we were good enough to stick through it together.

It depends on the guy and my age at the time. I usually would wait 2 years so I could get to know the person.
SimplicityGirl
well me and my boyfriend talked about this.....

we said we'd live in together in about 6-8 years time......and marry 2-4 years after that. if we go by that....then it's 10 years of dating before marriage =)
alysaphobia
haha i really don't know.
but as of right now i'd probably like to date for at least 2-3 years... and have a long engagement.
oXMuhNirvanaXo
I put 2 years..

Thats should seem long enough..
haha_you_have_a_lisp
I think it depends on the guy and how much you love each other?
tininja
It really depends on the person, and how long I've actually known them. Anywhere from 3-5 years for me..
WHIMSICAL 0NE
Like already said. Depends on the person and age.

I think it's kinda strange when people get married after not knowing each other for more than a few months. I think that's kinda... questionable. I don't think that within a few months you know someone well enough to spend the rest of your life with them.
stephinika
Yeah it really depends on the age of the people, how long you've known each other, and everything too...for me, at the very least a year...if not 2. Depends reallly.
jaeminnie
I said two years. I think it depends on how old you both are and if you've known each other as friends before dating, though.
KissMe2408
I'd like to be dating for atleast 2 or 3 years before I even think about getting engaged, and maybe like another year or two of being engaged,
i wouldn't like to rush things at all.
RAWRstephishere
It depends, and when the guy pops the question.

I would say over a year. I chose two years.
Xcom-for-levisX
I put down two years. But, there is the huge factor of whether you think the guy is right for you or not and not just someone you getting on with quite well.

Another huge factor would be age, I wouldn't recommend to anyone under the age of 18 getting married after 2 years. I'm not saying it wouldn't work, it's just not a great idea. What's the difference in waiting a few more years if your going to be spending the rest of your lives together.
femmefatale4160
That's a hard question. It really depends on my age and what my boyfriend wants. It wouldn't be less than a year, though.
angelrevelation
it depends if I'm ready or not. who's to tell? blink.gif

I'm expecting about two years or so to date, and then a year for an engagement.
Monochrome.
5 years max. and 1 year engagement?
bitesnkisses
I think that there's no real limit on how long you can/should date someone before you can marry them. Everyone varies, who is anyone else to judge? To someone it might take 10 months, others 2 years... I think it depends on the relationship and the people who are in it. BUt then again that's just my opinion. =]
megggnasty
I don't think that's something you can put a time on. I know a couple that was together for a year and then got married, and my aunt and uncle were together for 10+ years before getting married. It just depends on how you feel and if you're ready for the committment and responsability that comes with marriage.
enticinmel
I know I'm probably much older than most of the people here..but I was with my ex husband for 3 years before getting married (I was 15 when we met)..dumbest mistake of my life!
I am now with a wonderful man, we've been dating for 3 years and are now engaged and planning a wedding for August.
I think it depends on the person and knowing for sure if it's right..if you ahve any doubts rather small or large..make it a long engagement..dont rush it is pretty much my stand point.
Kathleen
Hrm. Probably when I'm devoid of college debts and have enough money for a wedding. XD.gif
cHoCoLaTe_cHiP_cOoKiE
it really depends, but i would say about 3 years. thumbsup.gif
pinacoolada
It depends on how good the relationship is, and how well we know each other (some people change when you're married...pinch.gif). So about 3-4 years?
mistah-slickz
haha seriously, 2 years but if it isn't gunna work out im not gunna drag it out bcuz 2 years already is a lot of time wasted with someone .
Duchess of Dork
I responded "more", but in reality, it would be forever. I'm not particularly fond of the idea of marriage. :]
Mystic Eyes
I would post pone it as along as I could. Marriages = fail.
NgocQuyen
2-3 years will be enough for me, but then it also depends on how i feel and whether or not i'm ready. :]
EmoEyelinerx
I would say probably 3+ years or be engaged after 2 years
Stefanny
At least three years.
