Can anyone think of a way to get rid of the words that are in bold in the following sentences? I'm writting a critical analysis on Annabel Lee, and we're not allowed to use any forms of am, is, are, was, were, and be. I've managed to remove most of them from my paper, but these last few I'm stuck on. Any ideas on how to reword my sentences?

(they sound bad enough as it is... lol) pinch.gif

1) Virginia Clemm was laid in her "sepulcher by the sea," after being envied by the angels in Heaven, two years prior to the writing of his love being taken away from him.

2) The atmosphere and mood that he reproduces in his poetry can mostly be contributed to her loss.

3) Since his death, his work has been variously assessed, with many critics disagreeing on the quality of his work and his talent as a writer.

Thank you! My brain is so fried from this paper. And its due tomorrow. wacko.gif
