Which characters from the books you have read do you love or root for...or those that you hate so much that you wish they die?

Love :
-Jim (Huck Finn) He's faithful and loyal, he is more of a protagonist than Huck, IMO.
-John Proctor (The Crucible) Sure it's his fault for his adultery, but I think he doesn't deserve to be hanged.
-Johnny (The Outsiders) "STAY GOLD." I loved that phrase.
-Ponyboy (The Outsiders) I just do like him.

Hate :
-Abigail Williams (The Crucible) I hate how she acts like she is so innocent, I hate that she hits on John Proctor, I hate that she is causing the mass hysteria, especially in the scene when all the girls just screamed like crazy.
-Walter Lee Younger (A Raisin in the Sun) Yeah, he got a little better at the end, but he is still a jerk.
-Roger Chillingworth (The Scarlet Letter) He is just plainly evil.
-Arthur Dimmesdale (The Scarlet Letter) He needs guts, seriously.
-Napoleon (Animal Farm) Ahh, dictators...
-Wu Tsing (The Joy Luck Club) One word: Perverted.

Holden from Catcher in the Rye. I really don't know if I like or hate him.

Oh, I love The Joy Luck Club, but I've forgotten who Wu Tsing is. Remind me again? ><

I think he's the one that says "KAI GUA" correct me if I am wrong. All I remember is that he's a perverted guy.

Favourite characters: Severus Snape and Heathcliff

I looooove Holden Caulfield (Catcher in the Rye), Bernard Marx (Brave New World), Hermione Granger (Harry Potter), Zooey Glass (Franny and Zooey), and Kilgore Trout (most Kurt Vonnegut books).

I also dislike Abigail Williams. Ugh. And I don't like Rosasharn Joad (Grapes of Wrath) or Jurgis Rudkus (The Jungle).

1. Faramir and Eoywm - I should list them separately, but I figure why not pimp out my favorite couple, EVER. Both were ridiculously short changed in the LOTR films. If you want to read about two amazing characters, read or reread The Two Towers.
2. Albus Dumbledore - The heart and soul of the HP series, in my opinion
3. Mr. Knightley - The only character Jane Austen has written that I actually like.

1. Dorian Gray - He embodies everything I hate about people.
2. Arthur Dimmesdale - For pete's sake, if they guy would have grown some balls, he would have spared us from having to read The Scarlet Letter in the first place.
3. Peter Pettigrew - There isn't one thing about this character that is sympathetic. Not ONE thing.

I have a great deal more, but those are just off the top of my head.

Oh Goodness, I despised her. I wrote a whole essay on how she's just stupidly acting up and is not just "reacting" to her society's pressures.

• Ron Weasley and Hermoine Granger - Goodness, me, do you know how many fanfics I've read about these two? My favorite is Daddy. I am pretty damn excessive when it comes to these two.

I love Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird, and Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings series. Something about Gatsby in The Great Gatsby and Holden in The Catcher in the Rye makes me love them. I can't think of any characters I actually hate...

*Ivar Devorast (Watercourse trilogy) I love his attitude! It's so confident and strong! Plus he's a total hottie.

*Leif (Deltora series) I like him alot too. He's smart, yet sort of childish, and he's brave and clever and strong and....just a great character.

*Jasmine (Deltora series) She's awsome! She's smart, aigile, funny. I just love her whole character. She's really cool.

*Remus Lupin (Harry potter) He's my fav teacher. I wuv him.

*Edward Cullen (Twilight) I wuv him too!! He's......enchanting.

*Rowan (Rowan of Rin series) He's so shy and cute, but he turns out to be the bravest one of all. Who doesn't love that?

*Sable Keech (The Skinner) He's an awsome character too! He's smart, and he's so interesting. I love his history and his life. He's awsome too!

*Moby Dick (Moby Dick) Now that is a sweet whale!

Hates
*Willem Korvan (Water course trilogy) He's such a......Dork. I hate him.

*Rebecca Frisk (The Skinner) What an insane biotch.

*Malfoy (Harry Potter) I'm getting bored with his "Potter!" thing.

*Baudelaires, and yeah, they're awesome. They're so spirited even after all they've been through.


I still can't remember who he is. Oh, well. I probably didn't like him anyway.

I also hated that ring-leader girl in A Great and Terrible Beauty. She was freaky... Killing the deer and all.
