Hey i was wondering how's the service, like the reception of it because my contract for my cell service is going to expire soon and i want to change to T-MOBILE..Does it work good in New York and Virginia? Please help me out, thanks.
think!IMAGINARILY
It's ok in NY. There are a few places where it doesn't work though. In the more suburban-ish parts of the boroughs, it's not as good. If you're in a place like Flushing or Jamaica or Manhattan, it's pretty good.
If you're getting the Fav 5 thing, DON'T. Because it won't let you do T-Mobile to T-Mobile calling then, which really sucks.
If you're planning on getting a mobile-to-mobile plan, get T-Mobile because most of the people in NYC have it.
If you want better coverage, go with Cingular. But the thing is that less people have it.

It's decent, most of my friends use it so I got it too.

HECK NO in California, but I am not sure about New York or Virginia.
It drops my calls and has bad reception.

If I am at places up at the hills (and that place is not even remote at all, it's in the suburbs), there is no reception. Every time I go to my friend's house at the hills, I have to call using my friend's phone, and my parents need to call my friend's phone too because mine doesn't work up there. Sometimes even in places like Costco won't work. It just pisses me off so much.

Okay, now the dropped calls part, I have called friends like 4 or 5 times in a row, but it works none of the time. I thought that my friends didn't pick up, but in fact, T-Mobile dropped my calls. So in my friends' phones they don't see my phone number in the missed call list because T-Mobile has never made the call to their phones. T-Mobile doesn't drop calls that much, but it happens more than Cingular.
My Cinderella.
I've never been to Virginia, so I guess I'll state for New York. The service is decent but for the obvious, you can't get service underground and sometimes when you're in a building. I recently switched from Sprint and I've got to say, the service has improved a lot.

mm, well im in kansas. and t mobile is ike..the best ever. ive never gotten a dropped call and ive never been dissatisfied.

no matter where i am( unless im underground or in some buildings) i always get all 4 of my bars covered. i get really great reception as well.

i live in new york, by the palisades mall, it's pretty good over here, there's like a couple places that i get dropped immediately though. but it's okay for me i use my t-mobile for my sidekick3 lol i also have verizon, which is really good, i always have service on verizon.
jenniez618
hey thanks for the comments, yea the only reason i want t-mobile is for the sidekick, i have verizon too :)

Hasn't really failed me, you'd be able to get a signal 90% of the time.

My cousin uses it, she think's it's really good, like her service and everything.

I had both cingular (currently) and t-mobile (last year).

Yes, their are more t-mobile users in NY (especially NYC) and t-mobile is more wider on the east coast then the west coast but I still would go for Cingular unless u have alot of friends/family members who have t-mobile.

Cingular offers: 1)better coverage in both location and plans 2)roll-over minutes 3)they are updating their systems faster then T-mobile does
4) they have a wider area over entire U.S.

T-Mobile offers: 1)great customer support 2)most people in NYC uses it 3)better coverage on east coast then west coast

i've used it in both virginia and ny, and it hasn't failed for me. i'd reccomend it. it works great in my area (nj) esp in my house where no one gets reception except tmobile. cingular is horrible here too (in my house but outside its fine) even veriozon phones can't get signal in my house which is wierd. i've had verizon then tmobile then to cingular (for like 4 days and swtiched back to tmobile due to lack of service in my house and they couldn't do anything about it so i stuck with tmobile so i'm happy with it).

I think its alright but it mostly depends where you are. me and my family took a trip from boston to chattanooga,TN and i was the only one with service and i use verizon. My sister was so upset the week there.
pandamonium
i am happy with tmobile cause its cheap, i never got a missed call and the phones they have are awesome.

next month on march 12 they are coming out with the new motorola RIZR.

but me and my family are on a 800 whenevertime minutes plan for 50 bucks a month which isnt bad.

i never really had a dropped call neither did my parents but the service is alright, my mom works in a very secluded hospital and she hardly gets service in her hospital inside and out. but yea thats the only problem.

if you want good service and bad phones go to verizon lol./

Actually they can, it's just a different MyFavs plan and you have to pay extra. _smile.gif

Over in Boston, T-Mobile dominates. Great service around here, but many complaints about dropped calls. Their phones aren't that good looking either, unless you're buying an unlocked phone.

I'd go with Cingular. wink.gif
I miss that carrier. cry.gif

t-mobile is excellent in ohio

IT SUCKS IN CALIFORNIA. My mom used to have T-Mobile and it wasn't good reception/signal..plus she couldn't pick up her calls when people called her. So yeah it sucks but everybody just like the phones they offer.
