Stupid kids spread neo-drama-

Visit the boards on the site for like a day, it will lower your IQ by 45 points. They fight with each other, make racial comments, try to scam other players, steal, lie, cheat. Etc. And you can bet that there will be a LOT of players who will come here, get a layout, and put it on one of their petpages, saying they made it. Do you want that? I don't.

Limiting your graphic skills. They block a lot of image sites, and they don't allow certain images, it's unacceptable.


Strict rules.

They are always changing what you can or cannot do with userlookups, things are always being blocked, it can be very hard to keep up with.

Really, the last two I'm not too worried about, but there will be a lot more layout thefts if this goes through.

The garbage that may join this site would be quickly filtered out by our sites attitude towards new people who jump on the site and act that way. Believe me, people like that do not last long here.

Well, things on this site are free for members to what they want with them. People already do that with the myspace layouts. The best thing you can do is add your insignia to the layouts you create.



Well, considering everything here is free for the taking... I don't think that anyone should be worried about layout theft. The issue about things consistently changing will just have to be dealt in the forum. That's just one thing that separates a neopets.com layout from the rest, and people don't have to use copyrighted neopets images to make layouts for the site. I really don't understand the whole issue surrounding copyright laws.

I would just suggest that cB just not accept copyrighted images in layouts until I get that email back from the web site saying that we can. It doesn't mean that people can't create layouts using those images in the "Showcase" thread.

I'm still not for it. If someone can show me an impressive layout that opinion might change but I have yet to see one.

I've never really been for this idea, I'll be supportive of it but I just have never liked the neopet community.

I for one would love it if there were NP layouts. I've been a Neopet addict for a couple of years now and it's hard to find quality layouts.

I'm not fond of the designing for neopets idea. Neopets has always been more of an elementary school sort of thing to me, regardless of what statistics show. Ohwellll

Yeah, Maybe if we had a profile viewer. I guess I just suggested it because there are very few neopet layout sites and I think it would bring in a lot of traffic.

if cb4 will support neopet, its gonna have a live preview.

the fact that theres very few neopet layout sites out there could also mean that the demand just isnt there. considering neopet is older than myspace and xanga, this is probably most likely the case.

Actually, as a member of Neopets and cB, I'd rather you not start making layouts. Neopets gives award for layouts (Site Spotlights, Gallery Spotlights, and User Lookup spotlights) and it's just going to promote stealing. There are already Neopets layout sites that offer pre-made layouts and coding templates. cB doesn't need to get involved.

She has a great point, that would be like someone on createblog taking the layouts now for myspace for instance and then posting them in contests for money and saying the layouts were their own. I think she has a great point and that people on neopets should have to make their own layouts if they (neopets) has awards for them.

Coding Neopets layouts is actually pretty simple. Up until about two years ago, I was pretty active on the site, and had been playing for four years. I've had my own Neopets layout site before too.

I think having a Neopets section is a great idea. It might be hard at first coming up with actual content though... since I dont think very many members have experience with the whole Neopets coding thing. But I'd be more than happy to go back and refresh myself, and help get the category started.

I agree with her it would take away the fun from the awards they offer for making them.Besides the layouts are extreamly easy to make,Even me the noob to the whole layout and graphic design concept can figure out how to make those layouts.

Because tons of "kids" I guess you could say would be flooding in, possibly joining... bringing in alot of immaturity. Have you ever been on Neopets and seen their message boards? It's INSANE. I'm just afraid people would join and think they could do the same thing here.

Im 14 And i LOVE neopets.. I Think Older people no offence on anyone think little kids or kids my age cant do advanced things like make layouts when in my time on neopets i have made loads of blogs and layouts and i understand html just fine its some younger kids under 13 maybe around 9 dont go on neopets to make guilds and blogs they go on the games which is also fun on the site. but not all people can make layouts and go out of search engines looking for neopets layouts and this place would be great for them i think personally it will bring lots of 13+ people here (also we (13+) learn html and that in school) Thanks

Not all children are imature strangly im not many (13+) older children i know like my friends Duh! are all hyper at school and on the computer when i talk to them over msn or something they dont seem like they are 14 they seem older

Well I wouldn't see any big problem with carrying neopet layouts, their extremely simple to code. Its ultimately up to Jusun, and I just don't know of that many people on createblog (most active) that really go on neopets, so I guess I just don't see that strong of a demand for them.


As Thomas did bring up, createblog is a place for blog layouts and such. Neopets doesn't really fit in to that category, when I think of myspace, xanga, blogger.. I just don't get the picture of neopets in the same category.

CB profile layouts should come out on here before we start allowing neopets and vampirefreaks stuff on here.

yes your right, but if we get like a list of things that Jusun could possibly update on, he could just make all the categories at one time instead of having to go back and forth.

Anyway you know I don't really care if we have neopet stuff, it would bring us new traffic, possibly a different kind of traffic, but in the end more traffic. Of course probably only 5% will stay around and actually join the community perhaps.

Two words: Hi5 and Friendster

That is my major concern with having another layout category (if I'm understanding the feedback correctly), having another dormant layout section. My suggesstion would be to have an "Other" category where layouts like Hi5, Friendster and something like Neopets could live.

Yea, but in the end I seriously think Neopets would be more popular than hi5 and friendster, we didn't even suggest those categories to get implemented into CB, when Jusun updated he added them. I never heard of them before then >_>

At least with the others that have been brought up in feedback I have heard of.

I think we should just get rid of HI5 and Friendster altogether. Almost all the layouts that are ever submitted were made with a generator which is against the rules anyway so its like were never going to have layouts in those categories except for a very small amount.


Anyway if all else fails then a "Other" Category would work fine, just we would have to have the option of choose what type of layout for each section that we would need for the coding to go where. Like with myspace there are two boxes one for the About Me coding and one for the Who I'd Like to Meet Coding.

Speaking of neopets, mine probably died years ago. I've always wanted a nifty neopet layout back then, so I can't see why we can't give the current neopet addicts some layouts now. Sounds like a plan to me. Neopets isn't exactly "unheard" of.

haha, I don't really know what to do about it. I'm still stuck that neopets isn't a blog, its taking care of a pet and running shops and so on and so on.

I mean neopets is huge, and I mean they've gone so far that there even selling gamecards now. It would bring a lot of traffic to this site, but I'm not sure if its the traffic we want. (IE - people under 13 and those annoying little kids >_>)

I mean personally I haven't touched neopets in years. I use to go on it everyday when I was like 10-13. But after that I grew out of it and just thought of it was a waste of time. Then of course by then CB became my time waster

eh i was on neopets for a very little time and i agree with that fact that it will bring more people here but chances are there stay will be short and they wont really make a big contribute to the site. If that makes any sense at all :]
