Height has always been a problem to me it seems like i can't grow and i know alto fo you are gonna be like learn to deal with it but i cant. It effects every aspect of my life in a negative way. i am turning 18 in two weeks and i cant beleive im only 5'4 is there any way im saying any way at all i can grow ??

If not, transform yourself into clay and you can stretch yourself longer that way.

You could take HGH (human growth hormone) pills, but that might cause your body to.. not be in proportion (like huge hands/feet/face/whatever). It sometimes doesn't cause you to grow taller.


Doesn't work. My sister, who's 22, tried that and is still 5'2". I'm glad I have the taller genes or I'd be as short as my sister.

If you want the easy route, I'd say stretch often, though I'm not sure how much that'll help you since you're already 18. Or you could lie in bed all day long to perhaps defy gravity.

But if you want to do it the hard way, take a vacation to Japan and get a leg-stretching operation. Basically, they'll break your legs and insert mechanical devices in your leg that will stimulate growth of new bones to replace the gaps of the broken bones, to put it rather simply. 5'4? Not short. If you still feel short, move to Asia. You'll be the tallest one there.

I'm only around 5'1, and I'm pretty close to 18 myself. I don't think I'm growing any taller any time soon. I've accepted it.

You could try having an operation to lengthen your legs, but that's a little drastic, no?

In all fairness, there's much more of a stigma against short males than short females. It's not a problem if a girl's short, but if a guy's short...well, there are certain social stigmas that occur.

I wasn't sure if it was a girl or a guy... lol.

But yeah, I realize that it's harder for guys to be short. :[

So basically, I'd just accept it and be happy with who you are. I'm 21 and only 5'2", so I know how you feel—but the only time it bothers me is when I'm shopping for clothes, and that's because I can never find anything in my size. Look on the bright side: At least you're unique. And you can always compensate for your size by having a big personality.

I feel like a damn giant. I'm 5'6.5 (same height as beyonce :winnk:) but really 5'4" is so not that short. I have friends way shorter. Its awkward. cuz I'm like the jolly light skinned giant lol. anyway, height isnt something people regularly discriminate about. Its not like beign short wuld stop people from hiring you...I mean unless the job required you to reach high heights? I don't know. Just don't worry about it. If you are a guy, then like the others said, work with it! I'm attracted to tall guys, but I also like short ones! My first true crush was on a guy who was 4'11...in 4th grade, he was that tall, I was around 5'2 at that time.

Now, I'm 5'5, and most likely have stopped growing because I haven't changed shoe sizes or height since last year(5th grade). Probably doesn't help because you are hearing this from a 12 year old..hehehehe....Alot of girls are short, not alot of boys are short. There truley are girls out there who like short guys.

I'm 17 and I'm 5'3 1/2" and I'm okay with it. There are girls in my grade who are shorter.

I'm 16 and 5'7". I'd have to say I'm ok with my height but wouldn't mind being taller.

but yea asia's 'stretching' method might be the most effective as well as reliable way to solve your problem if indeed you dare take such a drastic measure. the human growth hormone treatment would've had to start around the age of fourteen. it takes time for the dna to work effectively in your system. but then again you would have to consult a doctor for those shots and they are neither cheap nor so easily handed out.

but if it is height holding you back from what you want to do in life; try not to let it, because its your integrity, charisma, and your will to do things that people will notice overall. cheesy but its the truth.

and if that doesn't make you happy. then think of it this way.
say a comet was going to strike earth and the government has only enough money to make escape pods suitable for people of a short height, then you would be in luck.
