Dude. Did you know that cauliflower has different colors?
I went to the grocery store today and I spotted ORANGE cauliflower. Then there was PURPLE. Dude. Woahh, either I'm slow or I haven't really paid attention to the produce aisle, but colored cauliflower is cool.

I want to try the green one too, but I couldn't find that anywhere.. sad.gif

Here's what they look like:

Yup.

So what do you think of colored cauliflower? And if you tried it before, what did you think of the taste?

When I first asw the purple picture before reading the text I was like "Is that a flower...?" XD.gif

I never knew they existed, so forget ever tasting it. I'm up to trying it out, though, 'cause they actuall don't look weird in an altered color.
michellerrific
Dang are you sure that's not food coloring?! Lol
The purple one does look like a flower, seriously
voguelove

I had some purple cauliflower last night and the juices were purple. XD.gif I don't think it's food coloring, though.

The purple one tasted a little bit different, but that's probably because the color threw me off. laugh.gif But it's supposed to be higher in antioxidants than regular cauliflower, so that's good. _smile.gif

I'm having the orange one tonight! XD.gif

My mom made the purple one a few weeks ago. It doesn't taste any different, but I was like "what the hell is this purple vegetable doing on my plate?" but it's good. happy.gif

OM GI NEVER KNEW, I ALSYWAS thought...yellow.OMG AMAZING
My Cinderella.
I just like the white one. I've never tried the others.

The other colors are genetically engineered, but they have health benefits.
The purple one is higher in antioxidants and the orange one has 25 times more vitamin A.
_smile.gif

Y'know, I never really liked cauliflower that much until I saw the other colors. XD.gif
Broken Wonderwall
I had no idea there were other colors of cauliflower except for white. ohmy.gif

I'd like to try it though. _smile.gif

The purple look like the flowers that line the condos signs or a resturant. You kno the flowers that look like the purple cauliflower or cabbage.

I've never seen that. And I'm not going to each any one of them any time soon.

I like my white cauliflower even if those taste like the rainbow. I'm keeping my white cauliflower.

I never knew cauliflower was colored. I've never even tried the white one, so I wouldn't know if it tastes good. hehe.gif

When I first saw the orange one, it looked like it would be cheese-flavored.
mai_z
wow that looks genetically engineered up the wazooo..... I don't think i'd eat it.
Stefanny
I've eaten all three, lol.

The green one tastes like a mix between cauliflower and brocolli.
The orange one tastes the same, and the purple one is just YUCK.
Original is best, though. _smile.gif

edit: Green cauliflower is also sold as brocoflower.
me1issaaaa
