Flash, a bit of Photoshop, some ActionScripting. Somewhat tedious but that's what I used for my banner. Of course, I did all of that (and the music) before I found this site. Which means I put in more effort than I needed. =)

Yeah, the songs are linked externally. Surprisingly, for the quality of the sound, the files are pretty small and they load pretty quickly. It's definitely not the quality of having an MP3 up on a site but given the size and quickness in loading, I'd say the tradeoffs are worth it.
