i searched and searched for a joke contest, having faintly remembering that there was one when cB was in its old format. but I didn't find any so...
im hoping for a joke contest!...
there might be a group of judges to help decide which jokes goes to the final round for cBers to vote...
and applications could be riddles, jokes, or small stories with a punch line. (small as in like 10 sentences at the most)
with each month there will be a general topic that all applications must obey.
if there is a joke contest, let me know. the cB search probably didn't catch it.

There is one problem that I can think of already...
How can people trace if the made the joke up themselves or they simply retold it?

Or does originality matter?

Hmm, This sounds like an alright idea. To bad Seon Ho isn't around anymore..

i believe that originality does matter in a way.
but one could send in a joke from a source as long as it is stated in the application that the joke came from a source.
if it is not stated and judges do find a one just like it or very similar to it, it is called plagerism and the contestant will be disqualified.
or originality on a joke will give an applicant a better chance of winning because work was in it. Work as in thinking and writing and spending time writing it, not going to google and copy and paste a joke and then claim it is theirs.

This kind of fell off the radar. Was anyone even really interested in this?

This is such a shitty idea. A lot of the humor in a comedy show comes from the delivery of a comedian. Which obviously can't really be conveyed as well in text. What a piece of shit.

Well, it was just an idea. If people liked it, why not give it a chance, right?

Then perhaps videos should be used.

Great, I'm looking forward to seeing 14 year olds recycling jokes and doing a shitty job at it.
