How do you make your own font? What programs do you need?

They're not programs. The first is a tutorial (which requires somewhat professional software), and the second doesn't seem to work.

That one has a free trial, but is still cheaper than Macromedia's font creation software.

That is a web-based pixel font maker, which you might find useful.

Hidden program in Windows that allows you to do the same things. Although, not everyone has that.

the programs..

So I decided to try out Fontlab- it works well, but when I made my font (I drew it & scanned it) the letter spacing was very large. Does anyone know how I can fix this?
