My boyfriend and i have been together for a little bit more than half a year and we're one year apart... he's a senior and i'm a junior.. lately i have been worrying about how our relationship's gonna end up being like when he's off to college, we've talked about this before and we both agreed to try to work it out, but we also talked about the "ifs" .. like " if something happens .. " it saddens me.. to know someone who's so great and everything might leave me in .. 6 months i mean there's still like alot of time and i know i probably shouldnt be worryin about this so early, but i've just been thinking alot lately, is this weird? and has this ever happened to anyone before? ... thx

Yeah, it's normal to worry and be scared. The best thing you can do is just experience it, and not worry about until it actually happens. I was worried when my girlfriend went to school, but when it actually happened she proved my worries wrong and I wasted a lot of time worrying/stressing out.

Hey, I've been through that. My girlfriend was a junior and I was a senior and we were worried as well. Now I'm a freshman, done with my first semester, and she's a senior applying to colleges, and guess what? We're still together. I thought it was going to be tough, but it really wasn't. Long distance relationships are mostly based on trust, and communication. You need to trust one another, and make sure you don't break each other's trust. Communication is important as well. Let each other know how your day was, how you feel on this certain subject, etc etc.

Also, it's all about compromises. I don't go out partying or to bars that often because I don't want to do something that might jeopardize my relationship.

it'll be a test of u and his relationship but its gonna be painful... long distance dun work out thta well i did say only 5% works out.

dont worry, i know a lot of people who have bf's/gf'is in college, sometimes it goes wrong and somethings its pretty good.

I was dating a senior when I was a junior - I had to break up with him when he started goin to college - ONLY based upon the fact that my love for him was changing into a more friend-love. Just think about your relationship. Right now, I am currently dating a freshman in college, and I'm a senior. I guess I'm just lettin you know about it if you do decide to stay together. It. is. hard. If you really love him then it hurts incredibly much - but its DEFINITELY worth it. We talk every day, send emails etc. School breaks are so much better - so much fun. Also, if he is away you can focus on school and sorta help yourself in the long run while still having someone to love who loves you back. It basically depends on your relationship... you NEED to talk to him and see how much he cares/how strong it is.

i'm a junior and my bf's a senior and yeah i know how you feel. that constant worry that he might do something to end the relationship. take it one step at a time, you still have a good 6 months ahead of you, enjoy those 6 months together don't let the worry stop you. that's what i'm trying to do.

i'm pretty much in a long distance relationship right now( even before him going to college) and i think it's working out very well.
