Yes, I like fair skin. I have it myself. Tanning isn't good for your skin, and it doesn't look good on me anyways. =P

It really depends because you have to consider if it complements the person's hair color, eyes, etc.
I prefer tanned skin even though I know that in Chinese culture, pale skin is considered beautiful because it's like porcelain. Unfortunately, I am a tanned Asian. :P

I have pale skin/blue eyes/blonde hair...but since my mom is Dominican I have like...golden undertones. does that make sense? so I always have a little of a tan...but not like tan tan, i'm just a little darker than some other Polish people... This probably doesn't make any sense. I'll stop talking now.

my skin is very dark for an asian. it's probably because no one here has umbrellas to help shade yoursel from the sun. i seriously look like..im hawaiian or something.

Before, I hated it b/c I was corrupted into thinking tan is the most beautiful skin ever. But once I got out of that stage and got sick of trying to achieve what I couldn't; I realized it is. And more people should be able to appreciate it.

well im actually light skinned but in the summer i get a dark natural tan and i like that better but also light skin is beautiful 2

As long as it isn't the pale look you get before you vomit. Or like some girls who try to make themselves pale and they just deprive their body of nutrients.

I'm fair skinned myself, but I used to be really pale. I was lucky, though, because I have never had an acne issue (and hope I don't jinx myself.) I always thought it was a pain getting a pimple with really fair skin because it's more noticable.

I don't know why, but I always think outragously pale

Tanned looks sort of healthy in my odd point of view..
Even though it won't look so good when you're old and wrinkley..
I'm sort of darker then the pale skin I was born with.
I guess I'll have to go into a nursing home when I grow

imo i think pale ppl can be really pretty. if it fits them.

Personally, being raised in the American culture, I never really liked my paleness. I like the tan look, but I tend to be pale year-round =]

Hahaha! Well, I'm naturally paler than most people here (I'm from the Philippines) because of my Chinese roots, but I think it depends if it fits the person. Personally, I don't look good tanned (which I am a bit right now) cause I am naturally pale.

You get vitamin D from tanning, not tanning too much though.

Yay for being white! It was actually "in" and fashionable for a while but I think it's back to fake n bake.

WELL...from where my family comes from[india] they say the lighter u are the better because of the heat up there...so people ususally get quite tanned...but im naturally tanned and i love it...but the bad part is everyone just assumes im hispanic...so it kinda pisses me off. BUT anyways lol i kinda dislike it wen people go oh i think the lighter u are the prettier..no offence but i usually see black girls saying it...and im like u look fine! But than again im not reaaaaally tanned so i never really knew how it felt..lol

It usually is true lighter black girls seem prettier but that doesnt mean typical ones arent.

then i actually went out site and now I'm just really white. I don't think I would ever really look right with tan skin.

I personally have a medium skin tone and i like it. But I don't like how I looks sometimes wearing black because I look even darker.

I think that it pale skin could be pretty and ugly at the same time. I mean if you have pale skin and you don't know how to dress right then it might looks wrong. But if you do know how to dress to make your skin looks lovely then i think its nice =)

Americans tend to like the tanned look more, whereas the Asian culture will literally pay loads of money for whitening creams to make their skin appear... white. Pretty sad, isnt it? I so happen to be a very tanned Asian too ^__^

I've seen old pale people who look hideous. It just depends on the person I guess. Some people are really beautiful tan, and others are beautiful pale. It doesn't matter.

I think its really pretty. I much rather see someone with white/pale skin then something like a fake tan.

well it depends on what race you are and what looks good on you. i think asian people look good with pale skin UNLESS their vietnamese or indonesian or something and they're naturally tan. but ive always preferred pale skin over tan skin. and some girls just go too far by doing the whole fake tan thing and making themselves orange.

i look like something from the addams family when i put ivory powder on my face... so i don't like pale skin... my mom does though...

but i like my natural taness... it compliments black hair better than pale...
