i have a friend. and she`s confused to what`s going on with her. she had a best friend and she has feelings for the guy and good thing the guy knows about it. HOWEVER... the guy told her that he doesn`t like her. but then, one day the guy confront my friend and told her that HE NEEDS HER IN HIS LIFE AND HE CAN`T LIVE WITHOUT HER. do you think what he said was for a friendship thing or somehow he felt the way how my friend does to him? i don`t know i`m confused too. so i`m asking for help to everybody.

Maybe he just doesn't understand his feelings.

Or, he might "need" that girl in his life because she makes him feel wanted, or special or something, but nothing that's actual love. If he doesn't love her, but "needs" her, he's really self centered.

He probably means as a friend, he needs her to be a good friend.
I would assume that, because he never mentioned needing her as anything more than a friend.
She could ask him, so there isn't any worrying.
What ever the case, he sounds like he needs her as a friend at least.

It could go both ways. Basically, he needs her there for him to know that everything's okay.

Wait for more signs! One just isn't enough!

If he's truely interested in your friend something similar if not
more noticable(is that a word? o.o;) should occur again.
His true motive will reveal itself with time!

maybe he's starting to feel something for her, or he's jsut afraid. why dont you ask him, sinc eyoure just the friend. it owuld probably be abit awckward if your friend asked him

It sounds a lot like at this point he needs her as a friend. As in he couldnt live without her, even though he doesnt have a romantic interest in her. But for the sake of not sending or getting mixed messages, she should talk to him about. Tell him that its confusing to hear "I dont like you that way" and then " i need you in my life." That shes not really sure where he stands with their friendship/relationship...and just wants to know what he means by needs her.

Becuase in the end, only he really knows what he meant by it.

hhmm, well wait a little longer see what happens because it's just too vague to understand, maybe talk to him about it or ask one of his friends or something
