^Okay, I'm just beginning to install Wordpress on my subdomain, but the CSS is very different from the CSS I have used for websites in the past. Does this mean I have to remove my current stylesheet and create/edit the new ones in my Theme Editor? This is very confusing because there are many links that turn into a form of coding whenever you click on them.


^Also, do you have to link your site with the (/wordpress) ending after your subdomain name? It says I have to, whenever I hate the way it looks when it reads http://delusiverevamp.schizoidbeat.org/wordpress

first off, you need to commod (i dont think that's spelled right??) your files and make them writable or else you can't save anything. besides that, i always leave the stylesheet and just put all my css into the header section.

^Lately I have had about zero help with my subdomain, especially with Wordpress, that really confuses me, but I have managed. I created my own theme and I am in the process of creating the sidebar. I need to know if you have to keep the sidebar links (admin,login,logout,etc.). If I remove them, will it mess my page up? Thanks jumpropeforheart even though you were awfully late.

Awww , listen you can IM me anytime you need help with wordpress. I'll help you forsure. And yes you can delete anything in the sidebar. If you want I gave give you a clean template of what doesn't need to be there and what does. If you need it. But go ahead and delete the sidebar stuff.

Do you use smartFTP? (So I can tell you how to chmod the files so you can write on them)

Mmk go in your theme folders. (do one theme at a time) Right click on all the files one by one. Or hit CTRL A to select them all. Then right click. Go to properties/chmod. Then change numbers there to 666 .

After that you should be able to edit files you want.


The current layout you have on your site, you can use that same stylesheet. You may have to go through pages such as index.php, comments.php, page.php, single.php and other pages to customize it to your liking.


Sometimes its easier for your first them to start off with the classic template. But I love the default more. If you have any other questions or need any help just ask.

The reason the files are different is because they all have different php includes. You can't just go delete that stuff. But sidebar template. Is just whatever .

What do you mean?

From your current site code you could add your about me whole left side with the div into the sidebar template. You do need all the wordpress files . But anything from your current layout is optional. CSS well that is kind of a must.

Theme switcher thats a wordpress plugin that you cna get.

For webpages and PHP scripts, "666" and "777" are essentially the same thing.
