i just read the conclusion of the series and i have to say that im very, very, VERY dissapointed in the ending. I found it very over the top and that it didn't seem plausible. Hopefully, it will make more sense with a better translation but this ending left me feeling like it was forced. I still think that the serious overall is in my top 3 with gantz and berserk. anyone else read the whole series?

Death Note is getting pretty intense...

I only read the first volume of this last Saturday (FINALLY). It really is as good as everyone says. xD Can't wait to read more, then watch the live-actions. The only problem is I already know who dies in the second movie. >.<

haha. i know. i nearly jumped off my chair when I first found out. They also got the voice of boy Ranma from Ranma 1/2 as L. they also go Aya Hirano as one of the characters. intense voice actors. lol.

Death Note is awesome! I've read four volumes of it. L and Light are both brilliant. The mangaka must be really smart to think of the plot and all their deductions. Usually characters' thoughts aren't that deep, so it's nice to see an intellectual series.

I'll watch the live-action movies once I've read more of the series. I know who dies in the second one, so...

Yeah, you can access the online reading at thespectrum. They don't have a huge amount of series, but what they have is good.

I love Death Note. :] It's my favorite 2nd anime/manga. I'm pretty disappointed in the ending though. I wonder if there will be an American version of the live action movie.. It's just a rumor though. If they had DVDs of the anime I would certainly buy them because I already have all the mangas. :DD

It's weird imagining Near being called Neo. Is this manga that's scanlated by a scan group, or is that how it's translated in the anime?

by a scan group, so there were some differences throughout each chapter. Sometimes they would have "light" and sometimes they would have "Raito." and Ryuk would be spelled differently too.

I don't like it when there are inconsistencies in manga scanlations. =/
