I don't think running will help tone your abs all that much since they work your legs out more. You could try going to a gym and using their machines that tone your core or something.
I'm not even close to a four-pack. I just want to have a flat[ter] stomach, so I'm eating healthier and doing lots of crunches and situps.

the only person I know
who has a four pack got it by
doing quick but efficient crunches,
and this thing we did in bball:
go like you are going to do a military push-up.
only instead of resting on your hands,
rest on your forearms, elbows far apart
but knuckles touching.
tighten your abs, and rest for about 3 min.
(if you can get that far...)
^ that works fantastically, but boy does it burn.

Running does help you get a four pack, it decreases the fat on top of your muscles.
I got mine from dance, which isn't very helpful.

I've got a six pack, I'm trying to get an 8pack but I think my tummy is too small. Anyways.
Protein drinks, fruits and vegetables, and the will to get them packs. Every night do 100 situps, then do 35 side situps, then do 35 crunches. That's what I did when I was in Tae Kwon Do.

pilates.
i did that for a while. i didn`t get a 4pack because i didn`t do it long, i`d settle for a flat tummy.

i have more than four...actually more than 6 xD
i'm like a professional
follow my adivce and work hard and you shall have 8 pax
first you needa realize that everyone has 8 pax, and its their fat that is covering them
there are two ways to make them show
1)lose fat 2)make your ab muscles larger
you can lose fat by working out your whole body, and cardio
ofcourse eating is also very important!
regular crunches are for 3rd grade kids!
if you can do more than 12, then you needa to weighted crunches
hold your dumbell with your hands and rest it on your chest
and do 3~5 sets of 9~12 reps, 2~3 times a week (you are aiming for hypotrophy)
if you don't wanna get too big, and you just want defined, then i suggest do twice a week, 4 sets of 6 and 3 sets of 9
if you don't workout and you don't have a dumbell a milk carton or watermelon would work also ^^
